CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING A WATER TOWER AND GROUND SPACE LEASE WITH
CLEAR WIRELESS, LLC
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enhance telecommunications within the Mounds
View area and work cooperatively with Clear Wireless, LLC by leasing water tower space and
ground space; and
WHEREAS, this will utilize unused ground space within the fenced area adjacent to the
water tower and available space on the water tower; and
WHEREAS, this will also enhance revenue to the City by providing $21,000 per year for
approximately 49 square feet of ground space and space on the water tower for a three antenna
array consisting of three (3) panel antennas, three (3) microwave dishes, three (3) amplifiers,
and three (3) radios as depicted on Exhibit B of the lease agreement for an initial lease period of
Five (5) years and the option of four (4) additional five (5) year periods with an annual inflator of
four (4) percent; and
WHEREAS, Clear Wireless, LLC will pay the City $2,000 upfront for legal and staff costs
associated with negotiating a lease.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
the Mayor and the City Clerk-Administrator are hereby authorized to sign the water tower and
ground space lease with Clear Wireless, LLC, subject to review and approval of the plans and
specifications by appropriate City staff and consultants.
Said resolution was declared to have been duly passed and adopted this 25'h day of January,
2010.
