CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE 800 MHZ RADIOS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
FEDERAL URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) GRANT FUNDS AWARDED
TO RAMSEY COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Federal Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant funds were awarded
to Ramsey County Emergency Management; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County Emergency Management determined a need within
cities for the acquisition of 800 MHz radios; and
WHEREAS, Mounds View Public works does not currently have 800 MHz radios to
communicate with emergency responders; and
WHEREAS, purchasing five portable 800 MHz radios and accessories at a cost of
$6737.30 will enable the city public works personnel the ability to communicate with police,
fire and emergency units; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County will reimburse the City of Mounds View for the full
purchase amount of $6737.30.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does authorize the purchase of five portable 800 MHz
radios with chargers, speaker microphones and batteries.
