CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEW CONTRACT FOR SECTION 8 HOUSING
INSPECTIONS FOR THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is authorized by Minnesota Statutes (Minn.
Stat. 473.195) to function as a housing and redevelopment authority for the seven county
metropolitan area (including Mounds View); and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has the federal contract authority to operate
the federal Section 8 housing assistance program in the seven-county metropolitan area
(including Mounds View); and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has had a contract with the City of Mounds
View since 1988 to perForm the Section 8 housing inspection and reinspection services in
Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council wants to enter into a new contract with the
City of Mounds View to perform the Section 8 housing inspection and reinspection
services in Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the proposed housing inspection contract from
the Metropolitan Council and finds it acceptable to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
approves the contract with the Metropolitan Council for Section 8 Housing inspection and
reinspection services in the City of Mounds View for the time period of September 1, 2010
through August 31, 2015.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Mounds View City
Council authorizes the Mayor and the City Administrator to sign and execute the
referenced contract with the Metropolitan Council for Section 8 Housing inspection and
reinspection services in the City of Mounds View.
