A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR V..CATIONS,
HOLIDAYS, AND OTHER 'JORJ;ING CONDITIONS
FOR VILLAGE EMPLOYEES
tho Village Council of the Village of Mounds View
feels that it is for the best interests of the Village of Mounds
View and its employees and for the purpose of stabilizing
conditions of employment of said employees and to insure a
friendly spirit of cooperation between the Village and its
employees, and to avoid disruption in the services and the
operation of said establishment and to secure the benefits intend-
ed to be derived by the Village and its employees, to adopt the
hereinafter sot out rules and regulations governing the employ-
ment and working conditions of the employees of the Village of
Mounds View:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council that
the following rules and regulations covering the employment of
the employees of the Village of Mounds View be adopted and placed
in effect, as follows; to -wit:
Section 1. This resolution ap2lics to all full time
employees of the Village of Mounds View who are paid a salary, as
opposed to those who are employed by the Village of Mounds View
in their professional capacity or who are paid on a foe basis.
No elective official is covered by tho terms of this resolution.
A full time employee is one who works a minimum of 173 hours
per month.
Section 2. All employees covered by this resolution shall
be granted a meal period of not less than ono -half hour and not
longer than ono hour and shall not bo requested to work during
this period except in the case of an extreme emergency.
Section 3. Vacations. All employers with one year or more
of continuous service shall receive ono week (5 working days)
of vacation with pay.
All employees with three years or more cf continuous service
shall receive two woc'_:s (10 working days) vacation with pay.
All employees with ton years or more of continuous service
shall receive three weeks (15 working days) of vacation with jaay.
All vacation pay shall be accrued, and in the event an
employee's employment is terminated for any reason, the employee
shall receive upon his termination the vacation pay which he has
coming to him at that time on a pro rata basis.
In computing vacation pay, length of service shall ':c based
upon the anniversary date of the day an employee commences his
employment.
All employees are to be paid their vacation pay immediately
prior to their leaving for their vacation.
Vacations are to bo used during the year they are earned and
all vacations must be arranged for at least 48 hours in advance
and ate subject to approval of the Village Council, or by such
personnel authorized by the Village Council. Employees will be
given opportunities to select vacation periods insofar as it is
possible or practicable.
When a vacati n is taken, only working days arc subtracted
from the vacation time to the employee's credit. For example,
if an employee takes two weeks off, he will be charged as using 10
days of vacation time.
Section 4. Any employee who intends to resign shall give to
the Village Council at least two weeks notice of such intention.
Section 5. Holidays. All employees shall be granted leave
of absence with regular pay en all legal holidays. These are:
New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
