HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 0234rTh RESOLUTION ,z.3-1 VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION TO THE LEGISLATURE, STATE OF MINNESOTA, REGARDING REAPPORTIONMENT AND THE VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW. At a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View, held on the 25th day of April, 1966 at 8 :00 o'clock P.M., at its Village Hall located at 2401 Highway 10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112 the following resolution was proposed by Member u,.pj o.o n and seconded by Member WHEREAS, the Village of Mounds View is a community of some 7,000 people lying within the boundaries of the County of Ramsey and comprising a part of the 43rd District North, and WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the residents of said village and the Village Council that one of the proposed plans being submitted to the legislature at its special reapportionment session calls for the removal of the tillage from its present district and would include said Village in a new district comprised of the Village of Spring Lake Park, and City of Fridley, both which lie within Anoka County, and would include the Village of St. Anthony, that lies mainly within Hennepin County, and WHEREAS, the Village of Mounds View under the proposed plan appears to be the only Ramsey County village that would not lie within a Ramsey County legislative district, and WHEREAS, the Village of Mounds View lies within Independent School District 621 which lies entirely within the County of Ramsey, and WHEREAS, Mounds View's main legislative interests lie with its Ramsey County neighbors, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Village Council of the Villaste of Mounds View that the Village of Mounds View request the Minnesota Legislature at its special reapportionment session to take into consideration the above factors and to devise a reapportionment plan that would leave the entire Village of Mounds View within a legislative district comprised only of other Ramsey County municipalities. Those voting in favor: those voting against: whereupon the mayor declared that this resolution was duly adopted. COUNTY OF RAMSEY ss. VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW STATE OF MINNESOTA I, the undersigned, the duly qualified and acting Clerk of the Village of Mounds View, Minnesota, DO HERESY CERTIFY That this is a true and correct copy of a resolution to the legislature, State of Minnesota, regarding reapportionment and the Village of Mounds View passed by the Village Council on the 25th day of April, 1966.
