VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
At a regular meeting of the Village Council held
on the 9th day of December 1968, at 8:00 o'clock P.M., at 2401 Highway
10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112, with the following members present:
Rustad, Lang and Malvin, and the following members absent: Johnson
Member Lang moved the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING METROPOLITAN
ZOO PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Zoo Advisory Committee to the Metropolitan
Council has made proposals for a new major metropolitan zoo, and
WHEREAS, these proposals will greatly benefit the
people of our area by providing a facility for the study and preservation
of animal species, as well as a place for family- centered recreation,and
WHEREAS, this facility would be largely self
supporting, with minimal financial cost to the public, and
WHEREAS, the zoo would be of benefit to area
citizens and businesses and a major attraction for tourists,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of
the Village of Mounds View goes on record in support of this project
and urges the State Legislature to implement these plans in the
coming legislative session.
The motion for the adoption of the above resolution
was duly seconded by Member Rustad, and upon a vote being taken thereon
the following members voted in favor thereof: Lang, Rustad and Malvin
and the following voted against the same: None
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and
acting Deputy Clerk of the Village of Mounds View, Minnesota, do hereby
certify that I have carefully compared the attached and foregoing extract
of minutes of a meeting of the governing body of the above municipality
held on the date therein indicated, and that the same is a full, true
and correct copy of said minutes, insofar as the same relate to a
resolution supporting the metropolitan zoo project.
