Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to tentatively, waive miniimim frontage;
requirement and approve lots approximately ,94' x 129' for Northwest corner of County'
Road "I" and Groveland Rd. if plat is-submitted by Haugen within 60 days and approved.
The Village must also obtain an additional 8' for road easement for Groveland Rd. and
a 60' road easement for the extension of Knollwood Drive. 5 ayes.
The owner of the property located on the SW corner of Hillview and Edge:mod
requested permission fdr lots less than the minimum frontage. Motion by Achterkirch,
seconded by Rusted to waive minimum frontage requirement and give tentative approval of
3 lots approximately 97.84' x 131.6' subject to plat presented and approved within
60 days. 5 ayes.

The regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View was
called to order by Mayor Gibson at 8 :00 P.M. on October 7, 1958,, at the Village
Mall, 1450 West Highway: 96

Bentrup, 8158 Red Oak Drive presented drawing showing 2 homes on 1 lot.
Problem referred to the Building Inspector and Clerk. Clerk to present problem
to the Planning Committee for discussion and recommendation.
Building permit for Red Oak School was discussed. Building Inspector will
waive permit fee.
Clerk instructed to write letter to Major Watts regarding connection to
Arsenal sewer.
Letter from Engineer regarding storm sewer study tabled until next meeting.
Trustee Sullivan recommended that in the future the Engineer be consulted before
any project such as the drainage nrob3.em around Lois Drive is started.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to repair Redoak Drive near Wooderest.
Gerald Blanski, 2511 Fillmore'Ave. N.E. inquired about property which he wants to
which would have more than 100'- fiontuge but less than I2g' deep. Told that as long
as he had the correct square footage it was all right to proceed.

Appointment_ of Plumbing Inspector tabled until next meeting.
Heating Inspector requested that home owners have a licensed contractor make gas
conversions. Council agreed that home o ers could install their own furnaces but that
they should be connected by a licensed installer
Police Commission recommended appointment of Robertus as Sergeant. They A7so
the recommendation that 'Ernest Grabowski be employed as an additional to work
approximately 50 hours per month, with a starting salary of 350.00 per month. Officer
Slifer's salary to be 3125.00 per month. Motion by Irvine, seconded by Sullivan to
concur with the Police Commission's recommendation. 5 ayes.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Rusted to aflow Civil Defense to spend *100.00 f

Clerk read a letter from Superintendent Reeder thanking the Civil Defense for the
help they gave at the time of the open house and dedication of Edgewood Junior High Schoo
The following names were presented by the Mayor for judges at the r;ovember 4th
election: Mrs. Alice Frits, Mrs. Phyllis Blanchard, firs. Ivet'Maaberg, Mrs. Isabella
Wi11e, Mrs. Grace Aleckson,'Mrs. Iva Patron, Mrs. Ada Sopkowiak, Mrs. Alice Jensen
and Mrs. B. Hafslund. Polling place for precinct #2 must be changed from Red Oak School
due to the remodeling. The Clerk requested that she be allowed to put new clerks on
for counting votes with one of the election judges in each precinct to help. The
following were suggested as judges to be in charge: Mrs. Iva Petron, Precinct #1; Mrs.
Alice Frits, Precinct #2; Mrs. Ada Sopkowiak, Precinct #3. Suggestion made that the
judges in charge be paid $1.25 per hour.
Deputy Clerk to inform Arden Hills that the Council will not meet on November 4th as
they will be using the Village Hall for the election.
Curfew Ordinance tabled until future meeting.
Motion by Irvine, seconded by Rusted to give temporary arnrovai for Sam Dalberg's plat
South of Hillview Road, if said plat is presented and approved within 60 days. Developer
must provide 60' road. 5 ayes.
Petition for street light on Oakwood and Highway 8. Motion by Rusted, seconded by
Achterkirch to approve street light. 5 ayes.
Letter from Board of County Commissioners regarding pump at Spring Lake read and
placed on file.
Letter from Superintendent Reeder regarding narking lot at new junior high school
and the condition of Edgewood Drive read and referred to Engineer.

adopting 1959 Budget. 5 ayes.
Resolution regarding proposed hospital tabled until next meeting.
Ordinsnce #50 amendment presented. Mayor wants to check before signing.
Contract with Spring Lake Park Fire Department referred to Trustee Achterkirch
for recommendation at next meeting.
Resolution regarding conduct of meetings tabled until next meeting.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Irvine to adjourn at 12:05 A.M.
