Mr. McCubrey and Mr. McFadden from the State Highway Departnent; presented plans for
present Highway 8 from south village limits to County Rd. H2. Motion by Achterkirch,
seconded by Irvine to table approval of preliminary plans until October 29 at 7:30 P.M.

October 21, 1958
A special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View was called
to order by M a y o r Gibson at 7:30 P.M. on October 1958 at Village
West Eighway 9
Minutes of October 7th meeting were read. Correction made to read Amendment to
Ordinance #50, instead of Ordinance #50. Motion by Rustad, seconded by Sullivan to
approve minutes as amended.
Dr. Sam Siemon reported on the problems of some village residents not disposing cf
garbage in proper Manner. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Irvine to refer problem to
Trustee Achterkirch, Health and Public Safety Committee for a report at the November 18th
meeting. 5 ayes.
Mr. Bentrup, 8158 Red Oak Drive to make an alternate plan for his property, not to
include the sub standard home, and meet with the Planning Committee on November 13th for
a recommendation.
Don McBeath informed he did not need a permit for a repair job which would cost less
than $150.00 but must obtain a heating contracting license in order to do maintenance
work in the Village.
Floyd Anderson, 7444 Fairchild requested permission to sell a 75' lot. Informed
that there is a 100' minimum frontage requirement and t: :e Council feels that he s`.ould
sell that much.
Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Rustad to have t.e attorney prepare an ordinance
establishing a Planning Commission if it is found tat a Commission is not contrary to
the standard tyre of Village government. 5 ayes.

Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Rustad to write a letter to Senator Thye and Senator
Humphrey regarding connection to Arsenal sewer. 5 ayes.
Motion by Ac' :terkirch, seconded by Irvine to conc' :r with the Planning Committee's
recommendation and accept the proposal made by the Village Engineer for a Storm Sewer Study.

possible purchase and operation of Lakeside Beach to be presented to the Village

to, spend up to $550.00 for supplion for a hockey rink at Hillview and Greenwood.''
