February 2, 1959
The regular monthly meeting of the Village Council of the Village of
Mounds View was called to order by Mayor Gibson at 8:2.0 P.M. on February 2,
1959. at the Village Fall, 1450 W. Highway 96.
The following members were present:

All bills were approved to be paid.

The Clerk read the minutes of the January 20th and .January 24th meetings.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Christensen to approve the minutes.
Motion by Christensen to approve Ordinance No. 60, with the deletion of 2b and
10 b and the following added: It i:e understood that the contribution !of the Village
of Mounds View shall not exceed one —third (1/3) of its annual recreation budget.
After discussion, Christensen withdrew the motion with the understanding that a
resolution would be drawn up stating the conditions of the contribution of Mounds
View. Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to accept the Ordinance as
Mr. Haugen thanked the Council for their consideration of Ordinance No. 60 and
offered the Council some trees which they may use for landscaping at the Park area if
they so de ;ire.
Mr. Den Babinski presented a petition for rezoning from Class "A" Residential
to Class "B" Residential the property on the West side of Sunnyside Road between
Co. Rd. H Woodcrest Dr!ve. He also prenente6 plans for a double bungalow which
his company would like tc construct in that area. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by
Smith to refer the petition to the attorney and the plans to the Planning Commission.

Virgil Neal, 8380 Groveland Rd, requested permission to cut 75' wide lot out
of a piece of property which at the present is 230' wide and 458' de= Motion by
Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to refer request of Mr. Neal's tc the Planting
Comr+ission. 5 ayes.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Gibson that the salary of ti present Deputy Clerk
be raised from 550.00 a week to 560.00 a week and that she be compensated $10.00 for
each council meeting that she is required to attend other then the regular council
meeting held on the first Monda:• of each month. Upon the resignation or discharge
of our present deputy clerk, Mary Jean Miibrardt the :alai- of the newly aepointed
Deputy Clerk will revert to '50.00 a week until a satisfactory trial period has been
met —said trial period to be not le^^ t an 6 mop tl c starting from date of appointment
of new deputy. 5 ayes.
motion by Gibson, seconded by Christensen to make the following appointments to
the Planning Commission':

Establishing the Duties of the Police Department and Its Officers. 5 ayes.
Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to approve Resolution 18, Resolution
to sell the Village Hall and parking lot owned by the Village of Mounds View. 5 ayes.
Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Achterkirch to approve Resolution #19, Resolution
applying for tax forfeited land. 5 ayes.
Trustee Achterkirch read the police report for the month of January, 1959.
