Kenneth Kinstler be appointed to the Lakeside Park committee and requested the council set a date for a rezoning hearing. Motion by Christensen seconded by Hodges that date of hearing be set for February 23, 1960 at 800 p. m. at the Edgewood JUnion High School. 5 ayes, motion carried. %lotion by Crane seconded by Christensen that the following citizens be appointed to the Planning Committee as recommended by Mr. Stole: Phyllis Robertue, 3 year term expiring December 31, 1962; Henry Carnes, 3 year term expiring December 31, 1962' %ndArthur McClure, 2 year term expiriig December 31, 1961, 5 ayes, motion carr:ed. Motion amen- ded by Smith to obtain a notorizod letter containing both parties signatures. Motion and amended motion seconded by Malvin, 5 ayes, motion carried. Mr. Piehowski also presented a request for an addition onto the house of Mr. 'Jayne Larson; said addition requiring a varriance of a Stet back line. Case referred to the planning Committee and Attorney for dispositeon and report at the next council meeting. The subject regarding erection of prefab chimneys on new houses in the Village was again presented to the council by the Heating Inspector. Information from the Federal Government regarding spe- cifications and recommendations for such chimneys has not been received as previously requested and no action taken for approval of said chimneys. Mayor Crane directed the attorney to draw up a Park and Play- grounds Resolution for presentation at next council meeting. Upon recommendation of the inspectors, the council directed the Clerk to purchase several copies of the St. Paul Buildint Code. The problem of provide a road on the property in which Mr. George Gustafson is interested was turned over to Trustee Christen- sen for study and investigation. The question concerning the building of four houses on Bronson Drive by Mr. Grobert was again brought to tle attention of the council. In view of the fact that the Division of Lot 13 was attempted by Mr. Groberg, as stated in a letter from the County Register of Deeds, showing record of said subdividing of lot 13 on January 4, 1960, Mayor Crane moved seconded by Smith that said property be subdivided in accordance wit`_= the Sub Division Regulam tions. 5 ayes, motion carried. Mr. Comstock, Village Engineer, reported that a meeting was 'ld with the officials of the Mineapglis Sewer De Major Watts of the Arsenal, members of the council and himself which did not result in anything specific concerning the sewer problem in the Village. It was also brought out that a letter had been re- ceived by Mayor Crane from the Federal Housing and Home Agency and that the loan application for planning purposes for the sewer and rater study in the village was not approved at this time. Mr. Ahlers, Fiscal Agent, reported on the contemplated water hearing discussing the type and amount of assessments, type of water system, the costs and other problems relating to the installation of water in the Village. Motion by Christensen seconded by Hodges that the water hearing be held February 17, 1960, 8:00 p.m. at rdgewood Junior HigL School. 5 ayes, motion carried. A resolution relating to the construction of a sanitaa i sewer system and t e appointment of persons from Mounds View to ssitt in the study of this_, system together with other surrounding c nicipal- ities, was read and moved by Smith, seconded by Christensen for adoptioh. 5 ayes, motion carried. Cu0009 Motion by Smith seconded by Crane that Trustee Christensen, the village attorney and t'ie village Engineer be appointed to a committee from Mounds View to correlate their efforts with members of other villages outlined in the sewer reaolutio.z,; in order to arrive at a'mutual agreement between the municipalities entering into a similar resolution. 5 ayes, motion carried. Mayor Crane appointed Christensen and dodges to review the police ordinance and to recommend appointments to the olice Com- mission. Mayor Crane also appointed Trustee Christensen and Mr. McClusr to head a street committee for a study of future street construction in the village. Christensen and Crane to head a committee to investigate build- ing of a Village :call and Office. Trustee Hodges, Mayor Crane and sir. Stole to head a land acquisition committee for the purpose of building a civic center and park area. A meeting between the police, Justices of the Peace and Council was arranged for Tednesday night, February 10, 1960 at 8:30 p.m. Chief Roburtus submitted a Police report for the year of 1959, contents of said report on file in the Village Office. A Subdivision request submitted by Pars. Bacon for lot #78, :iillview Addition referred to the Planning Commission for study and a report. Motion by Lodges seconded by Malvin to a_? }rove the following licenses: The subject of hiring more help in the Village Office or raising the Clerk's salary was mentioned by Mayor Crane. Following a heated dis between t'_o council and citizens from the floor matter was tabeled until further investigation could be made.
