of the council, a special meeting of the council was called to
order by Mayor Crane at 8:45 F.M. Thursday, February 25th, 1960,
at the village office, 5499 Adams Street, New Brighton 12, Minn.

Motion by Christensen seconded by Hodges that project 1960 -1
(construction of wells and storage tank) be completed by the
Village Engineer and plans for such project be drawn up for
inspection by the council.
Motion by Malvin seconded by Smith that project Number 1960 -2
(preparation of preliminary plans for the installation of Water
Laterials in the Pinewood Area) be prepared; said area determined
by the following boundaries: The area lying north of County Road
H2, East of Edgewood Drive, South of Sher Road and extension
thereof to Trunk Highway #8, and 'lest of Tru:r%: Hihv;ay #3; said
plans to be prepared only for th plat.ten properties within this
area. 5 ayes motion carried.
Motion by Malvin seconded by Crane that project nu_ :ber 1960 -3
(preparation of preliminary plans for the installation of water
laterals in the Twelve Oaks area) be prepared, said area determined
by the following boundaries: the area lying north of County Read. H,
East of Fairchild Avenue, South of County fond 1 -1 -2 and west of
Edgewood Drive and extension thereof to County Road I -2; said, plans
to be prepared only for those platted properties within this area.
5 ayes, motion carried.
Motion by Crane seconded by Hodg; s that a core :Attee consisting
of Trustee Christensen, Village ihigirecr, and Village attorney
be appointed to investigate and recommend a site or sites for
project number 1960 -1 (construction of _.c11 and storage tanks).
5 ayes, motion carried.
Motion by Crane seconded by Hodges tilt t'::• council approve
the construction plans for T.H. #10 frori t r i,itr, ction of High-
ways #8 and #10 to the end of the village 1i' -its on highway #10;
said approval subject to the consideration that crossover be
included in the construction of sa :d highway and to he located
somewhere 11• somewhere in the area between County :Thad Inc'. c e Creek. fac'
North on ._ighway 10, and that the rttorney be directed to prepare a
Resolution embodying the above consideration. 5 ays, :.rotion

Attorney directed to pre:;are a Resolution to the State Highway
Coguaieion containing a provision t'zat at time of construction of
T.H. #10, Mounds View Village to be notified so that the construction
of village water mains can be correlated with the construction of
Highway #10 in order to keep the expense of mains crossing the
highway at a minimum.
Smith reported on a meeting with the Mounds View School
Board regarding the use of one of the Schools located within the
village for Council meetings. Smith stated that he was informed by
the School Board that the council's request for regular use of
Edgewood School was not desirable and that either Red Oak School
or Pinewood School should be considered for that use. The School
Board members also agreed that a fee of 315.00 (fifteen dollars)
should be paid for each meeting to cover the expense of janitor
service and utilities service.
Motion by Malvin seconded by Hodges to hold regular council
meetings on the second Monday night of the month at the Red Oak
School. 5 ayes, motion carried. Schedule arranged with the
Principal of the Red Oak School and meetings will comz.ende with
the first regular meeting on Iarch 14, 1960.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Kelvin that a check to the
Mounds View Little League which was held up for payment by the
Treasurer, pending investigation of whether a motion for said
payment has been made previously, be approved and signed by the
Council. 5 ayes, motion carried.
Meeting scheduled to be held with the council and a represent—
ative from the Ilort'iern States Power Co:r_any at 8:30 on "Wednesday,
March 2, and with the Liquor Committee at 9 :30 said date.
Attorney directed to prepare a legal notice to the newspaper
for an official hearing on the Zoning Ordinance on Thursday,
March 22, 1960, 8 :30 F.L. at the Zdgewood Junior High School.
Attorney directed to investigate the procedures concerning
the Hospital election to be held in April, 1960.
Motion by Crane, seconded by Christensen that the Clerk hire
another Deputy to work evenings on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
from 6:30 to 9:00 P.i., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12 :00
noon, to be paid at the rate of X2.00 an hour, Mrs. larriet
to be hired for this .)osition; and th the Clerk purchase a
typewriter, her,ograph machin ,_lid a co;,ying :machine and place a
for sale ad in the pa_- rs for tie Duplicating :..achine now in use
by the office,
