HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1960/08/29PROCEEDINGS OP TIM VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notiao thereof a special meeting of the village council was called to order at 8:00 P. M., August 29, 1960, at the Red Oak School, Shorewood Road and Red Oak Drive. Members present: Mayor Allan 8. Crane Clerk Earl E. Smith Trustee Melford C. Christensen Donald C. Hodges Perry Malvin Attorney Richard a Meyers Engineer C. V. Comstock The meeting opened with an explanation by Mayor Crane concerning the water petitions which were received in the village office on August 26, 1960 to "41.61 the construction of Water Project 1960 -3 in the Hillview and Snollwood` areas. Motion was then made by Christensen, seconded by Malvin to order the construction of Waterworks Improvement No. 1960.3 and direct the Engineer to prepare plans and detailed specifications for such project. 5 ayes, motion carried. Mr. Comstock, village Engineer, then explained where and on which streets the laterals for Waterworks Improvement No. 1960 -3 would be placed as shorn on a map prepared by the Engineer with the approval of the council as a result of the petitions received. Mayor Crane then announced that after specifications for Waterworks Improvement No. 1960 -3 are prepared, bids would then be called for c.i opened at the meeting on September 26, 1960 as agreed on by the council. The budget for the Lakeside Park Commission was discussed and held .over for the budget meeting by the council to be held the first week in September. In other ?+usiness from tae floor the subject concerning the licensing of peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants was discussed and Smith stated that many objections had been received in the village office concern- ing the fee charged for such licenses. The council decided to investigate this with the possibility of amending the ordinance concerned. Upon receiving a negative response from other business from the floor Mayor Crane moved and Malvin seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 P. M. Earl E. Smith Village Clerk bmitt
