J. special meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called
to order at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 196A by Mayor Al'' .7rane
at the villa3e office.
The first item of business was to appoint an official newspaper
for the Village. Mayor Crane moved, Malvin seconded that the New
Jri.hton Bulletin be the official newspaper for the Village of Mounds
View for the year 1961. Clerk Blanchard read letters of application
from the New Brighton Bulletin and the Rose Tribune. 5 ayes for
approval, motion carried.
Notion was made by Trustee Christensen, seconded by Hodes twat
we _retain the First State Bank of New Brighton as our official deposi-
tory for Hounds View Village for the year 1961. 5 ayes for approval,
:motion carried.
Motion by Mayor Crane, seconded by Trustee Hodges that all appoint-
ees and committees continue to serve until relieved or replaced. 5
ayes for approval, motion carried.
Mayor Crane announced that on Saturday, January 7th, the League
of Minnesota Municipalities is conducting a seminar for new councilmen
and mayors—those who have not previously attended. Trustee Ealvin
roved, Layer Crane seconded a motion that the Village send Clerk
Blanchard to this seminar and pay tuition and registration fees of
:4.5G if he wishes to go. 5 ayes for approval, motion carried.
Clerk Blanchard read a letter from the Emmett L. Moore Insurance
Curapany stating that they have bond coverage for the truck operated by
iir. 3kiba as well as for Er. Skiba himself. They recommended that
obtain his own insurance and the Villa. ;e reimburse him for
it ::ayor Crane instructed the Clerk to refer this to the ttorney
for his recommendation.
Ma subject of ;150.00 paid to 3mmett L. i_oorc Insurance Cem
to cover water checks was brought up. Mayor Crane recommended t.at the
whole insurance program be referred to the Attorney for analysis and
tat a representative of the Emmett L. Moore Insurance Company be asked
to explain their "multiple coverage" insurance.

Mayor Crane moved, Trustee Christensen seconded a motion to
approve payment of the following bills:

Clerk Blanchard read a letter from the Ramsey County Engineer
stating that that office is holding, a meeting to discuss drainage in
Ramsey County at the request of the Ramsey County Municipal Dfficials
Organization.
Trustee Christensen moved, seconded by Malvin that the Clerk's
salary be 350.00 a month and the Council and Mayor's salaries remain
the same. 5 ayes for approval, motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Malvin, seconded by Hodges to adjourn at 8445
p.m. 5 ayes for approval, motion carried.
