Present Were: Mayor: Donald C. Hodges Clerk: Lloyd J. Blanchard Trustee: Charles La Vaque Ingram Rustad ArtY�ur Schott Also Present: Attorney: Richard Meyers Engineer: Sheldon Boehm Adm. Clerk: Paul E. Boog Public Works: Walter Skiba Motion by La Vaque to approve minutes of regular meeting July 27, 1964 as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. Motion by Rustad to approve minutes of special meeting, August 3, 1964 as presented. Seconded by Schott 5 Ayea. Several residents complained of the peat f ire on the Northeastern edge of the Village and requested council action. They were advised that Mr. Blanchard had arranged for � a representative of the Conservat�on Department to come and make suggestions asto the best method of fighting this type of fire, on Tuesday August 11, 1964. Motion by 5chott to refund the subdivi.sion fee to Mr. Albert Berens - 2255 Lois Drive as no action had been taken and he had withdrawn his request. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. An in�'ormal hearing was held to inform the affected reside�ts of the progress and proposals for the extension of Silver Lake Road. As only seven owners of the 52 parcels involved taere present and four of the seven were against putting in any improvements the Council decided that a�ublic hearino shou:�d be called. The matter r•as referred to the Atrorney for clarification of areas, services and districts �.nvolve�. Mr. W. 0. Frits requested that the Police Department be directed to i:�sue a violstion of burning ordinance citation te the owners of the lan.d involved in the peat fire i� said fire is not extinguished within a reasonable leng'_. of time. Mr. Frits also spoke of the many cases of Oak ldilt Disease in the Village and suggested that some t,ype of ord+_nance be written to have these direased trees removed. The Mayor appointed �'r. Bona was referred to the rlttvrney The Police Report for July was read and filed. A letter from Chief Grabowski regarding a shooting permit issued by �he Ramsey County Game W:3rden, Salvator was read. The Council advised the Chief that they wauld not allow any shooting in the Village and a letter to Mr Sal.ator vaill be sent by the Clerk's Office inf'orming him that the only method that meets the approval of the Council would be trapping. Motion by Schott to allow Mr. Skiba to attend the American Water Worka /lssociation Gonvention on Sept 23,24,25. Village to pay expenaes incurred. Seconded by La Vaqite. 5 Ayes Motlon by La Vaque to allow subdivision for perry Malvin 8088 Sunnyside as requested. Before entering into an agreament with the Highway Dept. f or further dxainage work beyor..:'_ Highway # 8, the Attorney 3dvised the Engineer to get a timetable of f an�s ,�o that the village will not have to underwrite trie cost oi this additional work. A letter from Shoreview Villa�e wa� read, requesting a contract quaranteeing certain work being dor.e by Mounds View before they would approve of the HigriWay # 8 crossing of the dr•ainage conduit.
