HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1965/06/07THE VILLAGE "COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Special Meeting of the Village Council was called to order by Mayor Hodges at 6:30 P.M., June 7, 1965 at 2401 Highway 10. Present Were: Mayor: Clerk: Trustee: Donald C. Hodges Lloyd J• Blanchard Ingram Rustad Charles La Vaque Absent: Trustee: Perry Malvin (arrived 7:00 P.M.' Also Present: Engineer: Eldon Comstock Adm. Clerk Paul E. Boog The Mayor opened the public hearing regarding the D. Zabel property. The Clerk read the legal notice as published and mailed. Objectors to the proposed rezoning as follows: Mr. Hillyard 2166 Highway 10 Minneapolis, Minnesota Mr. Bowman 2146 Highway 10 Minneapolis, Minnesota Mr. Facer 2138 Highway 10 Minneapolis, Minnesota They would rather not have a warehouse near their home. In the discussion on this matter these points were brought forward and discussed: 1. Heavy vehicle traffic expected. 2. Lack of proper area drainage. 3. Already zoned for light business 8 -1) 4. Possible other uses. The Mayor closed the hearing: Motion by Hodges to rezone the Northeasterly 410.6 feet of that part of the Southeast of Section 6, Township #30, Range 23, lying Southwesterly of the center line of Trunk Highway 10 (formerly State Highway 62, also know as Anoka Cut Off) and lying between two lines, each running Southwesterly at right angles to said center line from points distant 955.9 and 1065.9 feet Northwesterly from said South line of said Southeast from B -1 to B -3 as petitioned. Seconded by La Vaque. Roll Call Blanchard -naye, Hodges -aye, La Vaque, Naye- Rustad, Naye. Motion Lost Motion by Blanchard to authorize the Mayor and /or Attorney to sign necessary applications for federal aid for tornado debris removal. Seconded by La Vaque. 4 Ayes. Motion by La Vaque to set a public hearing for Water Improvement Project on Woodale Drive from Knollwood Drive to Fairchild Avenue at 9:00 P.M., June 28, 1965. Seconded by Rustad. 4 Ayes. Page 2 Motion by Rustad, on advise from the Attorney and Engineer, to readvertise for bids for Schedule B, Sanitary Sewer Project 1965 -3. Bid opening date will be July 6, 1965 at 6:30 P.M. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. Motion by La Vaque on advise from the Engineer, to send a work order and letter to the Ramsey County Engineer and request them to install a culvert on Jackson Drive and County Road H -2. Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes. Motion by Hodges to grant a variance to Ed Dropps as requested allowing 6 feet side yard set back on West side of his lot. Variance dependent on receipt of all necessary papers and fees. Variance lot is directly West of 2101 Sherwood Road. (address not given). Seconded by Rustad. 4 Ayes. The drainage problem directly East of Lakeside Park was referred to the Engineer for study. Motion by Hodges to grant a variance to D. Russel, 8026 Fairchild Avenue allowing 333 feet side yard set back on south side of his lot. Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes. A letter from Comstock and Davis, Village Engineer was read and filed. The letter referred to a report from Twin City Testing Lab, giving the iron removal plant performance. This letter requested before escrow money can be released. Motion by Rustad to pay Estimate 10, surface water drainage project 1964 -1 in the amount of 53,738.89. Seconded by La Vaque. 4 Ayes. The building inspector questioned the use of barbed wire in the Village and was informed that the Council had previously adopted the policy of allowing no barbed wire in the Village The contract forms and covering letters from Comstock and Davis and Peter Lametti and Sons Contractors for Schedule B of Sanitary Sewer Project 1965 -3 were referred to the Attorney for study. Motion by La Vaque to allow Sunrise Methodist Church to use the Village Hall on Saturday June 19, 1965 from 12:00 to 9:00 for the purpose of holding an auction. For waived. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. A letter from the State Industrial Commission regarding the ladder on the top of the water tower was referred to the Engineer for study and recommendation.
