HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1965/12/06PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE IF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor Hodges at 6 :45 p.m., December 6, 1965 at 2401 Highway 10. Present Were: Mayor Donald C. Hodges Clerk Lloyd J. Blanchard Trustee Charles La Vaque Trustee Ingram Rustad Trustee Perry Malvin Also Present: Sheldon Boehm, Richard Meyers, Walter Skiba, Joanne La Cease. Motion by Rusted to approve the minutes of May 7, 1965 as presented. Seconded by La Vaque. 5 ayes Mra Lowell D. Ube representing Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church requested subdivision of Lot 34, Spring Lake Park Hillview Addition with variance to side yard set back. Motion by Hodges to approve lot split (as requested above) and grant the following two variances subject to receipt of fees and forms. 1. Allowing 72' frontage. 2. Allowing 2' side yard set back on South side of property. (3' variance.) Seconded by Malvin. 5 ayes Motion by Blanchard to approve final plot for Mueller Second Addition and authorize Mayor and Clerk to sign and affix seal. Seconded by La Vaque. 5 ayes Motion by Rusted to advertise for bids for sewer maintenance equipment. Bid closing will be December 27, 1965 at 7 :30 p.m. Seconded by La Vaque. 5 ayes Motion by Blanchard to adopt Resolution 224 garding the apportionment of assessments. (Division 3547 3, 35424, 35655, 35687, 35643, 35567, 35621, 35584, 35803, 35802, 35797, 35853) Seconded by Hodges. 5 ayes The Mayor opened the Public Hearing on Rezoning all that part of the SEM of Section 6, Township 30 Range 23, lying SW'ly of the center line of Trunk Highway No. 10 (formerly State Highway No. 62, aka Anoka Cut Off) lying between two lines, each running SW'ly at right angles to said center line from points distant respectively 1311.9 feet and 1511.9 feet NW'ly from the S line of said SEM, measured on said center line running NW'ly at an angle of 41 degrees 3216 feet to said S line of SEW from a point distant 1346.9 feet E If SW corner of said SEA subject to right of State of Minnesota in right of way of Trunk Highway Not 10. The Clerk read the legal notice and attested to the publishing and mailing of the same. Mr. Charles Larson, developer, described the location of the property as being at the intersection of Highway 10 and Silver Lake Road (under construction.) The Mayor called three times for objectors: Mr. Hillyard, 2166 Highway 10 doesn't want zoning changed. There were no further objections. The Mayor closed the Hearing at 7:15 p.m. Motion by Malvin to conditionally approve the rezoning on re- ceipt and approval of building permit. Seconded by LaVaque. 5 ayes The water problem on Groveland Road was discussed. Motion by Rustad to direct the Engineer to prepare prelim- inary report as per petition. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 ayes Mr. Glen Dawson, Police Civil Service Commission Chairman, presented a certified list of qualified men for the position of pa- trolman. Their recommendation was Mike Oliver Kniss. (Action deferred to later date.) Motion by La Vague to approve agreement with a New Brighton 4 resident, D. Dean Thompson, 1321 Co. Rd. H to use municipal water from Mounds View. He gave verbal permission to enter property as required to read and examine meter as needed. Seconded by Rusted. 5 ayes Motion by Blanchard to direct the Engineer to have a hydrant installed at the intersection of Woodale and Silver Lake Road.
