HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1966/06/06PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Village Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Rustad at the Village Hall, 2401 Highway 10 June 6, 1966 Present Were: Mayor I. C, Rusted Clerk L. J( Blanchard Trustee Perry Malvin Trustee Richard Johnson Trustee Gary Lang Also Present: Engineer Shelly Boehm Deputy Clerk Joanne La Casse Public Works Walter Skiba At 7 :00 p.m. the Mayor opened the hearing on rezoning for Erwin Herbst. The Clerk read the legal and attested to the publishing and mailing of same. The Planning Commission has given the_r approval. The Mayor called three times for objectors and there were none. The hearing was closed. Motion by Johnson to conditionally approve the rezoning for Mr. Herbst from R 1 -A to B -3. The parcel rezoned is: All that part of the South 958.59' of the SLR of the SE% of Sec. 8, T. 30, R. 23 lying SWLY of STH except the East 332.89' of the South 715.1° thereof. Seconded by Malvin 5 ayes. A letter from Mr. R. Gustafson was read regarding the Voyle Leak property at 7886 Woodlawn Drive. The building is :oing to be torn down. The $115.00 will be refunded. Motion by Rustad to set a public hearing for Mr. Merwin T. Barth for 9:00 p.m, on June 27, 1966. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes The public hearing is for rezoning lots 106 through 111, Spring Lake Park Hillview Addition. Motion by Blanchard to approve variance for Mr. Kleinendorst. The 5' side yard set back is for the following parcel: The N 70' of the S, 270.7 feet of Lot 115 and S. 70' of the M6 of Lot 116, Knollwood Park. Seconded by Lang. 5 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to hire Brenda Rothgeber as Clerk- Typist at $1460 per hour. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to approve Change Order 1 for Street Improvement 1965 -1. Seconded by Rustad. 5 ayes. Motion by Malvin to approve Change Order t 1, Schedule A for Sanitary Sewer, Watermain and Surface Water Drainage Project 1966 -3. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes. Mr. Boehm presented the preliminary report for water project on Spring View Lane. (On file). Motion by Blanchard to accept the preliminary report for water on Spring View Lane. Seconded by Malvin. 5 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to set a public hearing for water improve- ment on Spring View Lane for 9:00 p.m. on July 11, 1966. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes. At 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. this date bids were opened for Street Improvement Project 1966 -4 and 1966 -5. Bids were as follows: Hennepin Black Topping Co., Inc. 1400 Pwy. 8 St. Paul 1966 -5 $212,141.75 1966 -4 $182,440.13 C. S. McCrossan, Inc. Route 2 Osseo, 1966 -5 $204,184.82 1966 -4 $15:,052.46 Dunkley Surfacing 3756 Grand St., N.E. Minneapolis, Minn. 1966 -5 $214,469.62 1966 -4 $16':,833.83 Motion by Rustad to concur with the Engineers recommendation and award the contract for Street Improvement 19 -4 to low bidder C. S. McCrossan, Inc. in the amount of $155,052.z and authorize the Clerk and Mayor to execute the contract. Completion date set for October 31, 1.966. Seconded by Lang. 5 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to concur with the Engineers recommendation and award the contract for Street Improvement 19( -5 to low bidder C. S. McCrossan, Inc. in the amount of $202,989.2. Said award con- ditional upon M.S.A. Fund Approval prior to actu 1 award of contract. Also authorize Mayor and Clerk to execute the contract. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes.
