HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1966/06/13i PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor Rustad at 8:00 p.m. on June 13, 1966 at 2401 Highway 10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. Officials Present: Also Present: Mayor I. C. Rustad Clerk L. J. Blanchard Trustee Perry Malvin Trustee Richard Johnson Trustee Gary Lang Attorney Richard Meyers Engineer Shelly Boehm Public Works Walter Skiba Deputy Clerk Joanne La Casse Motion by Johnson to approve the minutes of May 23, 1966 as presented. Seconded by Lang. 5 ayes. Motion by Rustad to approve the minutes of June 6, 1966 as presented. Seconded by Malvin. 5 ayes. Mayor Rustad expressed condolences from the Village Council on the death of Terry Peterson, son of Mr. and Airs. Elmer Peterson, 2237 Pinewood Drive. Terry was killed in action in Viet Nam. Mr. Malvin read the B E Patrol Report for May. (on file.) Mr. Malvin read the monthly Police Report for May. (on file) The Engineer gave a report on the installation of the alarm system. Motion by Rustad to instruct the Engineer to order the alarm system from Consolidated Electric in the amount of $290.00, installed. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes. Motion by Malvin to enter into agreement with Gopher Electric Company (per copy attached) and authorize the Public Works Superintendant to call when necessary. Seconded by Malvin. 5 ayes. Motion by Malvin to adopt the rider to the agreement with the St. Paul !ater Works Commission in regards to crossing the St. Paul Water Works Line. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 ayes. The Council has received official approval for MSA Street Improvement Project 1966 -5. Motion by Rustad to accept plans and specs for Street Improvement Project 1966 -6. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 ayes. This is for the area west of Long Lake Road and north of Highway 10. Motion by Rustad to set bid opening date for 1966 -6 Street Project for July 11, 1966 at 12:30 p.m. Seconded by Lang. 5 ayes. The results of the election by Maintenance personnel on accepting the Union were all ayes. Copy attached to official minutes. It was reported that the basements in the Lois and Knoll area have been filled. The basements on Eastwood and Greenwood are bing capped. The Council received a letter from a resident regarding Allstate Plumbing. This was referred to Justice La Vague. Motion by Blanchard to pay bills totaling $184,080.59 which includes final payment to C. S. McCrossan for Se.ver Project 1964 -1, Schedule A. Seconded by Rustad. 5 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to deny 3.2 license at carnival spon- sored by the Spring Lake Park Lions Club. Seconded by Rustad. 5 ayes. The second quarter meter reading will be done by the Maintenance Personnel. Motion by Blanchard to adopt Resolution 239 regarding apportionments. Seconded by Lang. 5 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to adopty Resolution 240 for Water Improvement Project 1960 -3 (this assessment is for one parcel of property previously deleted). Seconded by Rustad. 5 ayes. Motion by Johnson to adjourn. Seconded by Malvin. 5 ayes. I believe we discussed the extent that our electrical service can be of value. The following is our schedule of hourly rates and also when overtime hours come into effect: Hourly rate Monday through Friday Monday through Friday Monday through Friday Saturday and Sunday 0_1.00 per hour 8 :00 4:30 Straight time 4 :30 Midnight Time and one half Midnight 8:00 Double time Double time Un all calls the time begins from the hour dispatched until return. Material direct from the factory or distributor is billed at 15 ;4 above our actual invoice cost. Material from our stock is billed at 15 abode low book pricing. We discussed that evening the availability of a three phase generator. We do not have a unit of our ovm, but Minnesota Onan, the local distributor of Onan Company, has available a 30 19 three phase four wire generator.for rent at the following fee schedule: Two days $7b.00: weekly ;150.00; monthly $450.00. In an emer-ency we are not always sure that their rental unit will be available or at this point whether the unit is large enough to handle the load of your sites. Those are some of the problems that should be checked into prior to an emercency condition presenting itself. As I mentioned, I would personally like to far :,self with the job sites and their electrical sys:ens so there is some prior knowled.'e as to location and probable needs. If your office sees fit to call on !:opner tiectric for this maintenance service or any other electrical needs, we will be pleased to be oriented by yo'.:r Eneneer or department head.
