HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1968/02/26Present: Mayor Rusted Clerk Walser Trustee Johnson Trustee Malvin Trustee Lang PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA February 26, 1968 The Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor Rustad at 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 1968, at the Village Hall, 2401 Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. Also Present: Attorney Schumacher Engineer Boehm MIS/P (Johnson /Rustad) To approve the Feb. 12 minutes as corrected 3 Ayes Lang Malvin abstained The ,correction to the February 12th minutes reads as follows: Mr. Wayne Mecl, 6969'Knollwood Drive requested an auximiaryculvert to be installed near the NSSSD construction area while the street is torn up. The purpose is to allow better use of his land. The Council directed the Engineer to investigate and report back to the Council. The owner or NSSSD must pay the cost. Fred Goff requested that floridation of water in Mounds View be started now. He stated that it is highly recommended by the University of Minnesota. The law requires floridation of all municipal supplies by 1970. Mayor Rustad mentioned previous opposition to floridation but the Council will discuss the request. Rezoning on a lot near Woodale'Drive and Silver Lake Road was requested by Mr. Dropps. N 250' of Lots 11 and 12, Knollwood Park Addition. M /S /P (Rustad /Johnson) To set hearing on rezoning for Mr. Dropps property for 8:30 P.M. on March 11, 1968. 5 Ayes A variance request (5 feet set back on garage and one foot set back on house) on Greenfield for'R. Eigenheer, was presented. Lot 13, Mock 2, Eigenheer Addition. M /S /P (Johnson /Lang) To approve variance for Eigenheer. M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To approve gasoline station license for Don and Waynes Gulf, and Kennel license for James and Lois Buckley. M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To approve payment of bills as represented by checks numbered 2218 2247 (general) and 129 -156 (payroll). Mayor Rustad commented on the increase in the Spring Lake Park Fire Department costs over budgeted amounts. M /S /P (Walser /Malvin) To adopt Res. #365 apportioning assessments on Lots 80, 81, and 82, Spring Lake Park Knolls Addition. Div. #38214 for Donovan and Odella Wendt. 5 Ayes 5 Ayes 5 Ayes 5 Ayes M/S/P (Walser/Johnson) To approve the use of the hall on the second Wednesday of each month for the DFL Club, subject to the usual clean up regulations. 5 Ayes M /S.P (Walser /Lang) To approve Resolution #366 establishing effective immediately, meter deposit rates of $40.00 on a 5/8 meter and $90.00 on a 1" meter. 5 Ayes The Clerk announced a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the North Suburban Sanitary Sewer District that is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. on February 27, 1968, at the District Office, 1458 County Road "J Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55432. This meeting is to be held for discussion of the District's presentation before the Pollution Control Agency at its hearings February 28th and 29th. Trustee Malvin suggested we ask for a refund on the special alarm system which cost us $22.50 per month for the last 18 months, but which has not been connected. NSSSD easement papers were referred to the Engineer and Attorney for comments. They will report at next meeting. Trustee Johnson read the Police and B E Patrol reports for January and submitted the reports for filing. Trustee Lang announced a Parks and Playgrounds meeting on Thursday, February 29th and asked for interested parties to attend. Mr. Evans thanked the Council for authorizing'Wally to attend the Safety Meeting. Engineer Boehm read a report on Mr. Mecl's request for a culvert. Conditions now are satisfactory he said, and an additional culvert could only benefit the owner. A letter from Mr. Evans of the State Department of Economic Development, regarding bridge inspection was read. Mounds View doesn't have any bridges. An answer has been sent. M /S /P.
