PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
May 12, 1969
The Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by
Mayor Rustad at 8:02 P.M. on Monday, May 12, 1969, at the Village Hall, 2401
Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112.

The Mounds View Jaycees requested the use of the park and Village Hall for
Indian Summer Days, September 28th. The Clerk was authorized to make the
necessary reservation on the calendar.
Joe Strangis, of Preferred Builders, asked about the completion date for the road
in Park View Terrace. Requested Engineer to call him after he has consulted with
the contractor. Mr. Strangis also asked about vacated easements in Nordlirg
Terrace. Attorney advised that he has the resolution for action tonight.
Mayor Rushad's Report
Mayor Rustad read the Police Report for April.
Clerk- Administrator Zylla's Report
MSP (Rustad /Johnson) To approve the following licenses: General Contracting
Lawrence Signs, Inc. and Excavating Minnesota Home Sewer and Pinewood Sewer
and Water Service.
MSP (Blanchard /Hodges) To approve the general checks 3251 3281 and the
payroll checks 845 863. Total disbursements $17,321.80.
MSP (Johnson /Rustad) To approve a subdivision of the S 1/2 of Lot 81 Knollwood
Park Addition for Vincent Ackterkirk subject to the payment of fees and the
signing of the additional assessment agreement.
MSP (Blanchard /Johnson) To dispense with retaining a safe deposit box at
the First State Bank of New Brighton.
Councilman Johnson's Report
There is a NSSSD meeting tomorrow night. The Minnesota House has considered
the Metro Sewer Bill today but I don't know what happened. The bill is expected
to pass.

Councilman Hodges' Report

Councilman Hodges recommended the hiring of a full time parks maintenance man.
MSP (Hodges /Blanchard) To authorize the creation of the position of park
maintenance man and to authorize the advertisement for this man.
County Commissioner, Ed Salverda, brought 500 pine seedlings out which were
planted Saturday.
A resident asked when the ball fields would be in shape. Councilman Hodges
said that the park crew is in the process now of upgrading the ball fields.
A letter has been written to the Highway Department requesting trees in the
new STH #10 right'' -of -way and also some action on the removal of the abandoned
house at 8245 Edgewood Road. A reply is expected this week on the demolition
of the house but the Highway Department informed us the trees requested were
not in the right -of -way.
Councilman Blanchard's Report
Effective May 15th the County is changing the stop signs on Silver Lake Road
and County Road H2 to make Silver Lake Road a through street.
MSP (Blanchard /Johnson) To approve the installation of a street light at
the intersection of Bronson Drive and Raymond Avenue.
Councilman Blanchard announced that the Council is investigating the possibility
of a full time building inspector.
Street patching starting tomorrow.
Attorney Meyers' Report
Ordinance 165 was presented by Attorney Meyers rezoning certain property.
MSP (Hodges /Johnson) To approve Resolution 439 releasing certain utility
and drainage easements on part of Lots 1, 2, 18 and 19, Block 1, Nordling
Terrace.
Attorney has examined police recommendations regarding a proposed contract.
Highway Department has filed awards on new Highway #10 to County Road J.
Watson Construction Company probably will approach us to sign off a check for
approximately $27,000.00 in assessments. The whole 120 acres has over $80,000.00
in assessments.
Engineer Boehm's Report
Primp 11 back in service, pumping 800 gallons per minute.
Progressing on plans and specifications for HUD project.
Mr. Stanley Horowicki and Mr. Lawrence Cicky, the new owners of the Mermaid
1 Supper Club, introduced themselves to the Council.
