Mayor McCarty asked the Council for their direction
regarding Resolution No. 1797 which was adopted by the City
Council at the September 24, 1984 Regular Meeting approving
the 1985 General Fund Budget. His concern was with respect
to the provision in the City Council portion of the 1985
General Fund Budget for increases in the City Council's
salaries which could not be implemented in 1984 as the
ordinance which would be required to be adopted increasing
the City Council's salaries could not be adopted prior to
the November 6th election. McCarty asked if the City
Council wanted to reallocate the money budgeted for Council
raises to some other purpose or to the Contingency Fund.
Councilmember Hankner stated that she felt that the
Resolution should stand as adopted.
Councilmember Linke stated his general agreement with this
position and suggested that the Resolution stand.
Councilmember Doty moved to adjourn
at 10:00 p.m. Seconded by Councilmember
Linke.
