HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1985/01/02PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA The Mounds View City Council was called to order by Acting 'iayor Hankner at 7:30 PM on January 2, 1985. MEMBERS Pt&ESEUT; Councilmembers Linke, Blanchard and Acting :.iayor Hankner. ALSO PRESENT: Clerk /Administrator Pauley and Public Works /Community Development Director Thatcher. Clerk /Administrator Pauley adfflinistered the oath of office to Mayor Linke. Mayor Linke accepted a check from the Mounds View Lions Club for $541.65, for the purchase of an emergercy radio system, and extended thanks on behalf of the Council and the City. Motion /Second: Hankner /Blanchard to approve Resolution No. 1840, declaring a vacancy on the City Council and setting the date for a special election for March 12, 1985, and waive the reading. 4 ayes Date Approved: 1/14/85 Annual Meeting January 2, 1985 Mounds View City Hall 2401 Highway 10, Mounds View, MN 55112 1. Approval of Resolution No. 1840 0 nays Motion Carried Mounds View City Council January 2, 1985 Annual Meeting Page Two Clerk /Administrator Pauley presented a proposed schedule to the Council of date to be followed for filing and for taking the oath of office. Mayor Linke read proposed Resolution No. 1846. 8. Resolution No. 1846 Motion /Second: Linke /Quick to approve Resolution No. 1846, appointing the official newspaper, acting mayor and official depository for 1985. 4 ayes 0 nays Mayor Linke read proposed Resolution No. 1845. 9. Resolution No. 1845 Motion /Second: Linke /Quick to approve Resolution No. 1845, appointing City Councilmembers and /or Staff as representatives for City commissions and for other organizations. 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried Motion /Second: Hankner /Blanchard to approve Resolution No. 1852, approving just and correct claims against City funds, and waive the reading. 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried Clerk /Administrator Pauley presented proposed Resolution No. 1853 and asked Council approval of it. Adjournment Motion Carried GATEWAY TO THE NORTH January 2, 1985 60/(1A RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA 2401 HIGHWAY 10 MOUNDS VIEW, MINN. 55112 784-3055 On November 6, 1984, the citizens of Mounds View provided me with what I believe to be the ultimate reward for my work on behalf of the City by electing me to the office of Mayor. During the next two years, I hope to repay the citizens by doing my best to work with the City Council in setting a new course for the City by working and planning for a better future for Mounds View, Before I can accept the Mayor's gavel I must resign from my current office of Councilmember.
