HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1987/09/08The Mounds View City Council was called 1. Call to order to order by Mayor Linke at 7:01 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Linke, Quick, 2. Roll Call Hankner, Wuori. Blanchard was absent. ALSO PRESENT: Clerk- Administrator Pauley. PROCEEDINF^ J,!' THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MOUNDS VIFW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA Clerk- Administrator Pauley reviewed the current status of the Metropolitan Council's concerns with respect to the data contained in the final Environmental Impact Statement for Mounds View Business Park which included a letter received on September 8 from a Staff member of the Metropolitan Council indicating that the data provided by the Developer adequately addressed their concerns and requests that the City maintain a vigilant status with respect to any future development and its impact upon possible degradation of the Long Lake system. The Council was presented with Resolution No. 2232 regarding adequacy of the Final Environmental Impact Statement, Mounds View Business Park and recommended its approval. MOTION /SECOND: Hankner /Quick to approve Resolution No. 2232. DATE APPROVED: 9/14/87 Special Meeting September 8, 1987 Mounds View City Hall 2401 Highway 10, Mounds View, MN 55112 Staff reviewed its memorandum to the City Council regarding appointments of temporary public works foremen and pay- ment of additional wages during the time a full -time public works foreman is not in the City's employ. 3. Approve Reso- lution No. 2232. All aye. Motion Carried CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 8, 1987 PAGE TWO MOTION /SECOND: Quick/Wuori to approve the appointment of Bill Hangii, Wally Mortenson and Tim Pittman as temporary public works foremen for the areas of Water, Sewer and Parks respectively with an additional wage of $1.00 per hour and an increase in the wages of Gary Kardell and Dick Schmidlin to the Maintenance III level during the time the City is without a full -time public works foreman. All aye. Motion Carried Clerk- Administrator Paulcv reviewed with the Council his memorandum regarding the construction of the addition to the public works garage and his request that the Council reconsider their action of August 24th and authorize that Alternative A -3 be included in the contract with Cottonwood Construc- tion. MOTION /SECOND: 5. Quick /Hankner moved to authorize that Alternative A -3 be included in the contract with Cottonwood Construction in the amount of $4,6660.00 for the painting of interior and exterior portions of the public works garage addition. Mayor Linke requested that Staff obtain a quote from the contractor on the installation of vinyl asbestos tile in the office and breakroom areas. Clerk Administrator Pauley requested the Council authorize the extension of the employment of George Pajunen to November 5, 1987 or an additional 120 ours of employment commencing on September 14, 1987, whichever comes first. MOTION /SECOND: Hankner/Wuori to approve Staff request. 4. Appointment of Temporary Public Works Foremen and Increase in Wages Approval of Alternative A -3 to Contract with Cottonwood Construction Motion Carried 6.
