CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE HIRING OF NATHAN GARLAND TO THE
POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the hiring of a Police Officer for a current
vacancy in the Police Department, and the Police Civil Service Commission has approved
the procedures for establishing an eligibility register to fill this vacancy, and;
WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of a competitive written
examination, resume scoring, oral interviews, background investigations, physical
examination, psychological examination, and physical agility testing, and;
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has certified the eligibility list for the
opening, and Nathan Garland is the top candidate standing on the eligibility register, and
his background investigation, physical, psychological, and physical agility testing have all
been successfully completed, and;
WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with Mr. Garland, and the Chief
of Police recommends he be appointed to the position of Police Officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Nathan Garland to the position of
Police Officer effective March 2, 2011 at the step one rate of pay ($20.70 /hr) as indicated
in the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract for the position.
