The regular monthly meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds
View was held July 1, 1958 at the Mounds View Village Hall, 1450 W. Highway 96.
The following members were present:
Mayor: James W. Gibson
Clerk: Martha Irvine
Trustees: John L. Sullivan
Reuben G. Achterkirch
and the following were also present: Ingram C. Rustad
Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt
Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers
Engineer: Otto Bonestroo
Treasurer: Irene Edberg
The meeting was opened at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor, James W. Gibson.
The hearing for the improvement on Edgewood Drive was held at 7:30.
Questions in regard to assessments were asked. The parties interested
were informed that a special assessment meeting would be held at a
later date.
The bids for the improvement on Edgewood Drive were closed at 8:01 P.M.
The only bid received was from Ray Sina. Bid given to Engineer Bonestroo
for checking.
Mr. Jorgenson and Mr. Videen appeared regarding rezoning of Lot 16, Block
5, Pinewood Terrace #2. The Council recommended that the Planning Committee
give this rezoning first consideration.
Sam Dalberg requested permission to build on an 83' lot. Informed that
he should get a petition signed by all the people on both sides of Eastwood
from Sherwood to Hillview and 'present it to the Council.
Clerk, Martha Irvine recommended that Mary Jean Milbrandt be appointed
Deputy Clerk at $50.00 a week. 5 ayes.
Motion by Rustad, seconded by Sullivan to accept minutes of June 24, 1958
as read.
Trustee, Ingram C. Rustad, recommended that Richard Meyers be appointed as
Village Attorney with a retainer fee of $125.00 per month and $25.00 per
meeting in excess of 1 meeting per month.
Appointments of Building Inspector and Electrical Inspector were
deferred to July 15.
Mayor, James W. Gibson recommended that Wm. VanElsberg be appointed
Weed Inspector. 5 ayes.
Appointment of Plumbing Inspector was deferred to July 15.
