August 19, 1958
A special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View was held
August 19, 1958 at the Mounds View Village Hall, 1450 W. Highway 96.
The following members were present:
Mayor: James W. Gibson
Clerk: Martha Irvine
Trustees: John L. Sullivan
Reuben G. Achterkirch
Absent: Ingram C. Rustad
and the following were also present:
Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt
Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers
Engineer: Otto Bonestroo
The meeting was opened at 8:04 P.M. by Mayor, James W. Gibson.
Motion by Irvine, seconded by Achterkirch to set up a meeting with the Health
Officer to inspect the house located at 2036 Bronson Drive. 4 ayes.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to give Donald Walbridge, 5511 Ericson Rd.
up to 90 days to finish garage on his property. 4 ayes.
Motion by Irvine, seconded by Achterkirch to have attorney draw up resolution
designating special assessments for Edgewood Drive. 4 ayes.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan that a barricade be put up at South end
of Edgewood Drive approximately 800 feet from its intersection with Woodale Drive. 4 ayes.
Motion by Irvine, seconded by Sullivan to have attorney and Deputy Clerk secure
easements from the school board and Christensens for road South of present Edgewood Drive
and to the school board for easement for road North of the new Junior High School. 4 ayes.
John Leight instructed to write letter to the Planning Commission requesting rezoning
of his property to allow for food stand.
Bernard Iblings instructed to write letter to the Planning Commission requesting
rezoning of his property to allow him to rent apartment in his basement.
Motion by Achterkirch to have culvert lowered on Lois Drive. Seconded by Irvine.
4 ayes.
Motion by Irvine to have the attorney draw up resolution setting up minimum needs
for state aid road system. Seconded by Achterkirch. 4 ayes.
Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to accept state aid roads 228 and 230 as
listed in map from the State highway Department and 229 as proposed in resolution of July
15th. 4 ayes.
Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Achterkirch to request permission to connect to
arsenal sewer. 4 ayes.
