January 2, 1959
A special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View
was called to order by Mayor Gibson at 7:22 P.M. on January 2, 1959, at the
Village Hall, 1450 W. Highway 96.
The following members were present:
Mayor:
Clerk:
Trustees:
James W. Gibson
Earl E. Smith
John L. Sullivan
Melford. C. Christensen
Absent: Reuben G. Achterkirch
and the following were also present:
Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt
Legal Counsel: Richard. Meyers
Prior to the opening of the meeting village officers, Smith, Christensen
and. Madsen were sworn in by Justice of the Peace C. U. V. Carlson.
Motion by Gibson, seconded by Christensen that John L. Sullivan be
appointed. Acting Mayor. 3 ayes, Sullivan abstaining.
Motion by StlIivan, seconded by Smith to designate the First State Bank of
New Brighton as the depository for village funds. 4 ayes.
After hearing proposals from The Rose Tribune and. The Crier for services
as a legal newspaper, motion by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to designate
The Crier as legal newspaper for the Village. 4 ayes.
Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Smith to approve Garbage and Rubbish Collector's
License for Philip Perron subject to inspection of his trucks by the Health Officer.
4 ayes.
Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to recess meeting until 8:00 P.M.
January 6th. 4 ayes.
The recessed meeting of January 2nd was reconvened at 8:03 January 6, 1959.
