73 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor James Gibson at 8:05 P.M. on May 18, 1959, at the Village Hall, 1450 West Highway <br />96. <br />The following were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Reuben G. Achterkirch <br />Melford C. Christensen <br />John L. Sullivan <br />Deputy Clerk: Betty Walbridge <br />Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers <br />Treasurer: Irene Edberg <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the meeting of May 4, 1959 and the following corrections <br />.. were made th ento. In Paragraph #3 stating the appearance of Mr. Dahlberg before the <br />council requesting Division of Lot 86 Spring Lake Park Knolls Addition that sentence is <br />corrected to read requesting Division of Lot 86 Spring Lake Park Hillview Addition. In <br />Paragraph #4 stating appearance of Mr. George Gustafson before the council requesting sub- <br />division of Lot 69 under Sub 89 that sentence is corrected to read under Lot 69 under <br />Auditor's Sub 89. Paragraph #10 stating a motion that T signs be installed on Jackson Drive, <br />Pinewood, Terrace, Oakwood and Hillview is corrected to read that a curve sign be installed <br />at Pinewood Drive and T signs installed on the other aforementioned streets. In Paragraph <br />#5 regarding the appearance of Mrs. Bacon before the council in discussing the incinerator <br />problem that portion of the paragraph stating that Mayor Gibson had stated that the <br />members of the council would read the report and make disposition thereof as soon as possible <br />is stricken from the minutes. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Gibson that the minutes <br />be approved as amended. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk read the minutes of a special meeting of the Village Council on May 6, 1959 <br />and the minutes were corrected to read that the meeting was called to order to discuss the <br />cane of Mrs. Wagamon and Sons, Meadowbrook Inn, instead of called to order to decide the <br />case. The minutes were also corrected to read that the Malt Liquor License and Dance <br />License were suspended instead of revoked as stated in the minutes. Motion by <br />The Clerk read the minutes of a special meeting at the home of James W. Gibson on <br />May 7, 1959, and a correction is made to,the minutes in that a paragraph should be <br />insthrted stating that the reason for altering the original suspension reducing the term <br />to 10 days was considered after further investigation and finding that the violation. <br />was more of a minor nature than originally believed and that the proprietors of the <br />Meadowbrook had been doing there utmost to keep the minors out of said establishment. <br />Motion by Sullivan seconded by Achterkirch that the minutes be approved as amended. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Hellerstedt appeared before the council in regards to rezoning of the property <br />at the intersection of Highways 8 and 10 from farm residential to commercial. A report <br />from the Planning Commission was read wherein it was suggested that said rezoning be <br />denied. Motion by Smith that the council concur with the denial of the Planning <br />Commission and deny said rezoning. Motion amended by Christensen to table the rrgttest <br />for rezoning until the zoning plan for Mounds View village is completed by the Planning <br />Commission. Motion and amended motion seconded by Sullivan and motion carried unanimously. <br />
