The regular meeting of the Village Council was called to order by is -or Allan B. Crane at 8:07 P. N. on July 25, 1960, at the Red Oak School, Red Oak Drive and Sherewood Road. Present were: Mayor Clerk Trustees Attorney En l.neer Clerk Smith read the minutes of -rere corrected to read that a motion building lavatories at Lakeside Park 500.00. Lotion by Malvin, seconded amended. 5 ayes, motion carried. Allan B. Crane Earl E. Smith i.ielford C. Christensen Donald C. Hodges Perry Malvin Richard G. Meyers Lester Knutson the meetink of May 31, 1960 which was made to pay half of the cost of with the village share not to exceed by Hodges to accept the minutes as Ordinance number 71, subject ''A3I ORDI:: >Ai "CE REGULATIN=G AATD CONTROLLI UG ,..'HE SETTI : G, IGNITING OR START I: G OF FIRES 'WITHIi: THE VILLAGE OF MOUYDS VIEW; PROVIDIiTG FOR EMERGENCY POWERS; AND REPEALIUG ORDINANCE NO. 9" was read and moved by Smith, seconded by Malvin for e 3prov'1. Amendment to the Ordinance was made by Christensen requiring all comlercial or public incinerators constructed the village be in accordance anti the Fire Underwriters standards and that plans for such be prepared by a registered Architect. Mayor Crane then asked for a call of roll on the amendment which received 5 ayes for approval. Clerk Smith then called roll on the original motion with Smith, Christensen, Malvin and Crane voting aye; Hodges no. Motion Carried. Mayor Grane then moved that Walter Skiba be appointed Chief Fire Marshall and Gordon Hafslund be appointed as Assistant Fire Marshall for the village. Motion seconded by Christensen. Smith and Malvin then pointed out that Mr. Skiba had quite a lot of other village work to do at the present time with the waterworks program and as a village inspector and that he may not have the time to give to this appointment and the is- suance of burning permits. Mr. Skiba who was present at the meeting then agreed to try the job and stated that he would notify the council if it was necessary to give it up because of interference with other necessary village work. Upon call of roll all members voted aye; motion carried. The Transient Peddlerts Ordinance was discussed and tabeled until the next meeting. Mayor Grane announced that a meeting would be held at 1:00 P. M., Saturday, July 30, 1960, at the village office to form an Industrial Committee, and that anyone interested in serving on this committee was welcome to attend this meeting.
