Mayor Crane made the following announcements* concerning various meetings to be held during the next two weeks: A league meeting on Thursday October, 13, 1960. A North Suburban Setter meeting on Wednesday October, 12, 1960. A Bond Sale at the Village Office on October 18, 1960, Tuesday at 8 ?00 p. m. Mayor Crane also announced that it would be t'_ :.e policy of the council that no further water improvements would be made until next summer. He stated that petitions for the constructer :. of water mains would be accepted until February 16, 1961. The subject of the purchase of water meters was brought up by Mayor Crane and Trustee Christensen suggested that the Village obtain contracts wit'.i several meter companies in order that the village could purchase a number of each kind of meters and test them under operating conditions. Motion was then made by Crane seconded by Malvin to order approximately 1000 meters more or less from the Neptune Company and direct the attorney to pre.. pare a contract with the Neptune company stating that said mexti*x meters would be complete with fittings and that the village would be able to order a few meters from time to time as needed and that no meters to be delivered by the Neptune Company until so ordered. A discussion then followed concerning the purchase of Neptune meters and Mel Christensen stated that he was not in favor of this and a lengthy discussion followed concerning the merits and so forth of Neptune and Rockwell meters. Upon call of roll on the motion Crane, Hodges and Malvin aye; Christensen no; motion carried. Motion by Malvin seconded by Crane to approve payment of the following bills (See list attached). 4 XXX ayes, motion care' Motion by Hodges seconded by Malvin to adjourn the meetixig at 10:32 P.
