Mr, Harvey Melby, 8371 Eastwood Drive appeared before the council and stated that he wished to make a complaint regarding a violation of the business ordinance in his area. The party concerned is selling Christmas trees on his residential property, He also stated that this party has ma moved in a stable and also operates a truck transfer business from the property. The village attorney stated ttaat Mre Melvy should file a complaint with the Police DepartOent or go directly to the Justice Court and sign his own complaint. Mr. Robert Anderson appeared before the council and presented a petition for two street lights to be located at Sherewood and Groveland and Sherewood and Fairchild. Sa.i.d petitions are to be kept on file and considered with the street light survey by Northern States Power. The village Attorney presented an affidavit for condemnation of the property ht 7856 Long Lake Road which is to be signed by the Building Inspector and the affected party. notified, Mr. Knutson.,, representative for the village Engineering firm, reported that specifications have been prepared for the second well and that the location is now the question to be monsidered. He stated however, that the re w well should not be located than 000 feet to the existing wl1. Mr_ Kitson also stated that the Federal Aeronautics Administration has been notified that tr. e water tank has been completed and informed that power is not yet available for the flasher .nit on top of the tank. Mayor Crane brought to the attention of the council that the Supertintendent of Schools has notified the village that the School District would like to blacktop the boulevard. on the East side of Red Oek Drive north of Sherewood but that the grade would have to be set on the street. The Village Engineer was instructed to prepare the plan .> for this street grade. Mr, Halter Skiba reported that most of the hydrants which must be pumped after being used have been tagged and that he will complete this job in the near future. The subject of the drainage ditch at Red Oak Drive and Woodcrest was brought up by an adjotning property owner. This owner stated that he thinks the ditch is partialy on his property. This matter was referred to the Attorney and Engineer to determine easements and ownership and to obtain an easement for the village if not done so allready, Clerk Smith entered the meeting at this paint at approximately 9:45, p. m. The subject of hooking up to the village water warm system after construction is completed was raised by several citizens. Mr. Knutson stated that the village can allow the citizens to hook up but that the village should provide contracting firms under the direction of the Water Works Superintendent for this work.
