The hearing for a special use permit requested by Mr. Melberg in
rder to build a filling station at the southwest corner of Hwy. 10
and Long Lake Road was then opened. Mr. Stole reported that the ilann. ,n
Commission has considered this request and feels that the property is
ideally situated for a filling station. Mr. Bill Frits asked what
ercenta;e of village property is zoned industrial as opposed to
)roperty for special use permit. He feels that the Council is abort -
'.nt the purpose of zoning this land industrial by issuing a special
».se permit. He feels that we would be limiting industrial development
in the area along Long Lake Road by removing one of the accesses to
the property. Trustee Christensen stated that there is at present only
one owner of all of the industrial land there except for the corner
owned by Mr. Melberg and that owner could build his own road to suit
his needs. Motion by Christensen to accept Mr Melberg's application
for special use permit and that he be given permission to erect and
operate a gasoline filling station on the parcel in question. Motion
oeoonded by Hodges. 5 ayes for approval, motion carried.
The hearing notice on condemnation of sub- standard house at 7856
Long Lake Road was read by the Attorney. The owners were present and
had received the notice. Mr. Meyers stated that the owners have 30
days to carry out the Council's recommendations on this property. The
L'uailding Inspector, Electrical Inspector and Plumbing Inspector stated
iat the place should be cleaned up, it needs a new chimney and a fire
:poor in the rear, the electrical system is definitely a hazard and that
Y7,' part of the system is acceptable, and that the drain from the kitchon
:i_nk may be too close to the well. Motion by Mayor Crane, seconded
r Hodges to take final action on this at the January 9th meeting.

•stee Christensen that the inspectors get together with the owners
hive them an idea of what is expected of them to get the building
shape.
The September 29, 1960 minutes were read by Clerk Smith. Motion
'lodges, seconded by Malvin to accept the minutes as read. 5 ayes
approval, motion carried.
Clerk Smith read the minutes of the November 28, 1960 meeting.
i.ayor Crane asked that the word "waive" in the last line of the third
paragraph on page 2 be changed to "amend ". Clerk Smith stated that
in the third paragraph from the bottom of page 5, the lot number
. :aould be "65" instead of "55 ". Motion by Christensen, seconded by
'dges to accept the minutes as corrected. 5 ayes for approval,
:..otion carried.
The minutes of the December 8, 1960 meeting were read by Clerk
3 ith. These were the minutes of the Annual Village Election. Motion
?.,,, Malvin, seconded by Hodges to approve them as read. Mayor Crane
'red if the vote on Plan A by precincts could be obtained. This will
added to the minutes. 5 ayes for approval, motion carried.
