HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000005_pg08w - 00001 Minutes of January 9th, 1961 Meeting Mayor Crane presented to the Council a Resolution from the League of Minnesota Municipalities entitled "Resolution of Water Resource Study Committee -Sub- Committee Concerning Proposed Expansion of the Minneapolis- StPaul Sanitary District ". Motion by Mayor Crane, seconded by Hodges to adopt this Resolution. Mr. Knutson said it is his understanding that the Resolution was not adopted by other Municipalities as set forth in the League Letter. Most of them added their own provisos; Trustee Christensen feels that the Village of Mounds View should spell out just what we feel is fair and equitable financing of this system and also to enumerate whatever else we want. Attorney Meyers said that the Village should add a proviso that if they do not come up with something within a reasonable time, Mounds View, will go ahead and find a solution of its own. Mr. Meyers will prepare an addition to this resolution and bring it to the next meeting. Mayor Crane withdrew his motion and Trustee Hodges withdrew his second. Clerk Blanchard will call Ehlers and Mann to have them re- submit 'heir bill for §ervices rendered. Clerk Blanchard read a letter from the Ramsey County Engineer stating that they are holding a meeting to discuss drainage in Ramsey County at the request of the Ramsey County Municpal Officials Organi- zation. Les Knutson, Mel Christensen and Donald Hodges will try to attend this meeting. The Council requested that Attorney Meyers make an analysis of the Village's insurance program and report at the January 23rd meeting, Clerk Blanchard read the Police Report for.December 1960 and the Report for the year of 1960. Mayor Crane moved, seconded by Malvin to accept the December 1960 and Yearly report of 1960 of the Mounds View Police Department as read. 5 Ayes for approval, motion carried. Mayor Crane presented a letter from the Minnesota Safety Council requesting that this Village take a survey of the traffic within the ''illage during the past year and send in a report. This will be imed over to the Police Commission to make the report. Attorney Meyers reported that the Resolution on Meter Settings not complete yet. A memo on the proposed street plan for the Village was submitted by Mr. Meyers. This will be gone over at the next agenda meeting. Mayor Crane suggested that the Council should meet with the Highway Department to find out what their plans are for the new Highway 10 & Highway 35 W. It was decided that a Highway Department representative will be invited to a public Council meeting after the Council has had an opportunity to discuss this informally. Attorney Meyers presented a Proposed Ordinance specifying that Plumbing Inspection fees go directly to the Village. This is an amendment to Ordinance #15. Motion by Malvin, seconded by Hodges to approve. 5 Ayes for approval, motion carried. Attorney Meyers presented to the Council,and Extract of Minutes of the December 12, 1960 meeting easing a Resolution granting a Special Use Permit for the construction of a Gasoline Service Statinn. The Clerk was instructed to send a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Melberg. An Ordinance amending Ordinance #67 on re- zoning of certain (to Coun property was submitted by Attorney Meyers. Mr. Meyers will send a copy / Attorney Meyers read a Resolution placing the tax assessment of Emil Pearson back on the tax rolls.
