-2_ <br />Isanutes of February 27th, 1961 Council Meeting <br />000026 <br />Mr. Jesse Bennett of 2145 Belle Lane gave an informative talk <br />.,n the Red Cross Bloodmobile and asked if the Village could sponsor <br />a blood donor day. The matter was referred to the Civil Defense for <br />study and Mr. Bennett volunteered to be Chairman of the drive to get <br />donors. <br />The Engineer's report was given by Mr. Knutson. He reported on <br />orogress of structure at well site to house pump. Temporary building <br />now completed and power to be connected on the following day. <br />The water lines will be flushed on Wednesday, March 1st. After <br />flushing and testing of lines they will be chlorinated. <br />Mr. Skiba gave an explanation of water use deposit and the priority <br />system in installing meters. <br />Specifications on blacktop of curb and boulevard at Red Oak <br />School referred to School Board of Independent School Dist. #621. <br />Mr. Knutson reported that drainage problem at Red Oak and Woodcrest <br />ras not Village responsibility at this time. The Clerk was instructed <br />'yo send a letter to Mrs. Marsolais, 5107 Red Oak Drive and explain that <br />an investigation was in progress, and that she would be notified of <br />any action contemplated by the Village. <br />Blueprints and specification for Edgewood Drive from Highway 10 <br />to County Rd. I were presented. <br />Motion by Crane to approve plans as presented. Seconded by <br />Blanchard. 4 Ayes for approval. <br />Motion by !L'1 u hard to approve licenses presented (listed with <br />approved bills on attached sheet). Seconded by Crane. 4 Ayes. <br />Motion by Malvin to issue License at no charge to Boy Scout Units <br />#400, 167 and 409 to conduct ticket sales in the Village. Seconded by <br />TTodges. 4 Ayes. <br />A letter from County Commissioners regarding Judicial Ditch #1 <br />was read and referred to the Village Engineer for further study. <br />Motion by Crane to have Malvin, Hodges, Blanchard,Trustees and CleIa <br />attend the courses at the University of Minnesota Center for Contiraaation <br />Study on March 21 and March 22nd at Village expense. Seconded by <br />Blanchard <br />Motion by Crane to have Walter Skiba attend Public Works Course <br />at University of Minnesota Center of Cont. Study at Village expense. <br />Seconded by Malvin; 4 Ayes. <br />Mr. Christensen arrived at this point (9:30 P.M.). Report on <br />Public Works given by Mr. Christensenu. <br />Motion by Christense to have our Engineer meet with Spring Lake <br />Park Engineer regarding a common emergency water use hookup. Seconded <br />by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />The proposed Street Light ! Op was shown to those present. <br />Motion by Crane to order street lights from Northern States Power <br />and Ramsey County as per purchase order (copy on file). Seconded by <br />Christensen. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard to order needed traffic signs per County Work <br />order, from Ramsey County. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Meeting was recessed at 9140 P.M. <br />
