Minutes of Village Council Meeting - March 27th, 1961
Specifications and blueprints for the building at the well site
were presented by the Engineer.
Motion by Malvin to advertise for bids for said building, bids to
close at 8 :00 P.M., April 24th, 1961. Seconded by Crane. 4 Ayes.
The Engineer presented the Village with maps showing all water
mains and laterals with 'shut -off valves.
The need for a traffic counter was brought out by our Engineer.
The State requires actual traffic count on State -Aid roads before the
Village can receive any State -Aid Monies.
Motion by Malvin to purchase one Traffic Counter, Model: Traf-
icounter, Jr. Comp. with batteries, roadtube and installation aanssorie3
for the advertised price of $50.00 (fifty dollars) from Streeter -Amet
Co. of Grayslake, Illinois. Seconded by Crane. 4 Ayes.
The Engineer was instructed to reker the prints and specifications
for blacktopping the Boulevard at Red Oak School to District #621
School Board.
Motion by Blanchard to authorize the Attorney to enter into an
Earnest Money Contract with Mr. Foley and to make the down payment.
Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes.
Malvin stated that he would notify the Radio Company, Miratel Inc>
in New Brighton that we would like a demonstration of their citizens
band radio on Monday, April 3 at the Village office.
Motion by Crane to allow the Engineer to furnish certain Village
Maps showing the existing homes in Mounds View to Mr. Wm. Werner of
2101 Sherwood Rd. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes.
Motion by Crane that the Village would receive Slater Petitions
and authorize the Engineer to prepare a Preliminary Report by April
24th. Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes..
Motion by Blanchard to send delegates to a meeting on March 28th
at the Ramsey County Court house held for tax information. Seconded
by Crane. 4 Ayes.
Motion by Blanchard to turn all Village Insurance business over
to James Mahoney, 1001 NW 2nd St., New Brighton as the policies fall
due. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes.
A set of Resolutions forwarded from the Ramsey County Municipal
Officials Association was read and the following action was taken.
Resolution recommending Legislative approval of a Ramsey Co.Mun.
League.
Motion by Crane to adopt aforementioned Resolution. No second
to the Motion. Motion died, for lack of a second.
Motion by Crane to adopt Resolution to Establish Joint Mur.icipal
Court . Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes.
