HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000005_pg410000,11 PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA The regular meeting of the Village of Mounds View was called to order at 800 P.M. Monday April 10th, 1961 at the Red Oak School, Sherwood Road and Red Oak Drive, Minneapolis 21, Minnesota Present Were: Mayors Clerk: Trustees,: Treasurers Engineer! Administrative Clerk Attorney! Absent# Allan B. Crane Lloyd J. Blanchard onald Hodges Perry Malvin Irene Edberg Les Knutson *Paul Boog Richard Meyers Trustee Christensen(Attending No.Sub.Sewer Comm.Meeting) Minutes of previous meeting were read. Motion by Hodges to accept minutes as presented. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes. The Engineer made his report and recommendation on Deep Well #2 bids. He recommended the low bidder be awarded the contract. Motion by Malvin to award the contract for Deep Well #2 to the Layne Minnesota Company of 3147 California Street, Minneapolis, Minn,. for the bid of $23,960.00 for Stage 1, $300 per unit for Stage #2 and a completion date of 1 to 12 weeks for both stages. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. Motion by Malvin to make final payment for Deep Well #1 and enter into a 1 year contract for Maintenance Bond Comm. as off- Apr.10th, 1961. with Thein Well Co. Seconded by Hodges, 4 Ayes. The Police Commission report was read by Crane and the following action was taken: Motion by Crane to raise Police Officer Carter Caldwell's Salary $25.00 per month effective, May 1st, 1961. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. The matter of authorization of the Police Chief to impose suspension upon Police Officers was referred to the Attorney. The Engineer reported that maps of the Village Water Supply system had been forwarded to the Fire Underwriter's Bureau so they may adjust Fire Insurance Rates in the Village. This was also referred to the Attorney so he could check with the Underwirter's to make sure this rate change would take place as soon as possible. Motion by Crane to hire Midwest Planning and Research, Inc. as Village Planning Consultants for 19t1 as per contract presented. (Copy on file). Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes. The Water Superintendent reported that the installation of Water Meters was going to require further help and recommended the Village hire an additional one or two men.
