HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000005_pg483 Minutes of April 24th, 1961 Council Meeting OOOO4 `3 The Civil Defense Director turned a check in the amount of $283.00 from the State Treasurer, Dept. of Civil Defense, over to the Clerk. Check was part of the "matching funds" program and was for the radio in the Civil Defense Truck. The Civil Defense Director reported that cabinets were needed for the rescue truck and read several bids he had received in regards to them. He requested Council approval before ordering these cabinets, Motion by Crane to authorize Civil Defense to spend up to $40000) for cabinets and wiring for the resecue truck from Civil Defense budget, Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. Recreation Committee report given by Mr: Hodges. Houle land- scaping was awarded the job of sodding infields on the ball diamonds. Public Works report from Mr. Christensen. Report on meeting with Ramsey County Engineer on roads. Motion by Christensen, to have Clerk send a Work Order to Ramsey ,nty Engineer to have patching done on roads and to bring them up to minimum safe driving eonditioris as agreed upon at meeting. Seconded by Crane, 5 Ayes, Northern States Power reported in a letter that the street lig! along Highway 10 would be up by April 15th. The Council will meet with Representatives of Northern States Power to discuss a gas franchise in the Village. Meeting to be held at the Village office May 1st, 1961. The Attorney will also be present. Mr. Wally Groberg, builder and Milt Stole Planning Commission Chairman will meet with the Village Council at 7 :00 P.M. May 1st to discuss a proposal of Mr. Groberg's regarding the Pinewood Shopping Center. The financial statement was presented by the Clerk. Motion by Crane to accept the statement as presented, Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. Motion by Blanchard to hire Mr, Robert Porter and Mr. Tom Ravelin., .s part time employees for assistance in ittetalliag Water Meters, at ,n hourly wage of $1s50 per hour plus 7 cent per mile mileage allowanc:Q ^econded by Malvtz:, 5 Ayes. Motion by Blanchard, Seconded by Crane to approve following Licenses: Garbage Hauling: Boyer Garbage Service, Hamel, Minnesota Heating Contracting: Standard Heating Co., 1694 Selby,St.Pau1,Minn.. Masonry: Leo Sinna, 5303 Hodgson Road, St. Paul, Electrical Contract,- ing: Williams Electric, 2312 Central Ave. N.E., Mpls 18, General Contracting: Freeman Brothers, 895 Mississippi St.N.E. Mpls 21, Minn. Excavating Contracting Lisense: Clark and Moore* Monticello, Minn. 5 Aye`. Motion by Christensen* Seconded by Crane to pay bills. (List attached). 5 Ayes. Motion to adjourn by Malvin.
