Motion by Crane seconded by Malvin, requesting the Attorney to prepare first draft of Ordinance establishing a Police Civil Service Commission. 3 Ayes for approval. Motion by Craneiseconded by Hodges, authorizing body work on Squad Car #692 (Ford) at a cost of $86.85. 3 Ayes for approval. Mayor Crane read the monthly report of the Police Department for May, During 535 Patrol hours, there were 133 calls in the Village,, 4 persons to jaili 8 hospital runs and 44 traffic tags issued. An electric Speed Time was Used on Co. Rd. H -2, where 87 cars were checked. Mayor Crane reviewed the Dogcatcher's report for the months of March and April3 'filetee Malvin reported that further Complaints from individuals rega ±ding the open sewer drain on the Herrman property at 2439 Ridge Larne. This matter to be referred to the Attorney. Mayor Crane reported on the taxes within the Village, reviewing the tax structure, and its relative mill rate to other areas, An amendment to the Ordinance granting the Gas Franchise to No. States Power Co. was submitted in a letter signed by Mr. E. V. Bergstrom* Supervisor Extensions Department of N.S.P., The amendment would replace Section 2 in the present Ordinance #83 "No gas mains shall hereafter be laid by the Grantee except upon application to the Village Engineer* and permission therefore granted by said Village Engineer, subject to the approval, however, by the Council by Resolution ". Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges to accept this as a substitute for the present Section 2 of Ordinance #83, also that this be referred to the Village Attorney for incorporation into, rather than an amend- ment of the Ordinance. 3 Ayes for approval.
