October 23rd, 1961 Council meeting (con't)
Motion by Malvin to hire Mr. Edward Christian, 7917 Eastwood Rd.,
at $1.50 per hour plus $407 per mile car allowance to assist in Water
Department. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes.
The Engineer reported on a meeting he had with the Engineer from
Spring Lake Park in regards to puttin g water into Lakeside Park.
Motion by Christensen'to instruct the E ineer to enter into the
necessary negotiations to perform wor oh Lakeside Park by way of a

change order or by direct contact with .coat a a sat an estimate cost
to the Village of $762,00 , and 6 total COst to both villages of $1.275.40.
Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes&
The Mayor stated that the Council wat v ait g foi the final plans
for 35E to be submitted to the Council, before , tiny Ociion would be taken,
Mr, Christensen stated he would draw; up plaht fot an interchange at!
Co. Rd. 3 and 35 to present to the Council as a ±opoSal to be forwarded
to the State Highway Department.
The Engineer reported that deferred pa y imen' of the $2,400.00 gas .
hook -qu p fee to N, S. P, for service at well Site #2 would result in
P # paying
almost three times that amount over a five year period.
Motion by Blanchard that the Village use gas as a power supply on
well and pump site #2.
Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes.
Meeting was recessed at this point.
Called to order at 9:50 by Mayor Crane.
A letter from the Fire Underwriters Bureau was read and placed on
file. Said letter was in regards to the placing of the Village of Mounds
View in class 8 which results in a lower cost of insurance rates.
An Ordinance entitled "Firearms ", was read and discussed.
Motion by Malvin to adopt Ordinance #88. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes.
A public notice regarding deferred meter deposits was read and
presented to the local papers.
Motion by Hodges to adopt deferred meter deposit policy. Seconded
by Christensen. 5 Ayes.
A list of streets on which water in now available was read and
presented for publication, This included all of project 1960 -3 and all
of 1961 -1 except Fairchild Ave. (This notice is to comply with
Ordinance #74, Section 27 as r,e o fri )
A resolution reducing the tax levy for Bond Redemption Fund from
$20,800,00 to $00 was read,
Motion by Crane to adopt resolution #89, Seconded by Malvin.
5 Ayes.
