CCNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
A =` uIORANDUM RELATIVE TO APPROVAL OF BUILDING PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS.
In regard to the Midwest Planning and Research, Inc. memorandum
of October 17, 1961; State law requires that a registered architect or engineer
must approve plans where any private or public building is constructed where the
public welfare, life, health, or property is involved.
The law does not apply to buildings that are to be used by the
builder himself or his lessee unless the public is involved. However, any building,
except one or two family dwellings or farm buildings, which cost more than $10,000.00
is covered by the law.
A registered architect or enginPer is needed for any public works
or improvement over $2,000.00 in costs. Public work or improvement means costs
paid in whole or part by public funds.
