HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000006_pg184PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA 000184 The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor Crane at 8:02 P.M., December 26th, 1961, at • Village Hall, 2401 Highway #10. Roll was called. Present '.were: Mayor: Allan B. Crane Clerk: Lloyd J. Blanchard Trustee: Donald Hodges absent: Trustees: Melford Christensen Perry Malvin Motion by Crane to approve minutes of December 12th, 1961 Council meeting as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 3 ayes. Motion by Crane to have police cars serviced at Chuck's Cities Service, County Rd. I and Adams, for one year begining January lst, 1962. Seconded by Hodges. 3 ayes. Motion by Blanchard to concur with Civil Defense report items No. 1 and 2 regarding the_use of C.D. members in police car on Saturday nights. Seconded by Crane. 3 ayes. The Civil Defense Ordinance was referred to the attorney for redrafting and updating to take advantage of the cost sharing by the Federal Government. The matter of snow removal complaints was referred to Mr. Skiba for action. The matter of a broken hydrant damaged by a citizen in an auto accident was referred to the attorney for collection. Mr. Malvin arrived at this point (9:05 p.m.). The attorney reported that the Implied Consent Law passed in the last session of the legislature does not apply to part -time peace officers, such as we have it this Village. He was instructed to forward a letter to the J.P.'s and Police Dept. regarding this. Motion by Crane to purchase Thermofax copier for $358.00. Seconded by Blanchard. After some discussion regarding cost, type of machine, potential usage, etc. the roll was called on the motion. Malvin -nave, Hodges naye, Blanchard naye, Crane aye. 3 nayes motion lost. Motion by Blanchard to transfer funds as recommended by Treasurer and Ad. Clerk. $7,500.00 from General fund to Bond Redemption Fund. Seconded by Malvin. 4 ayes. Motion by Crane to pay expenses of Mr. J.L. Sullivan, new trustee, for attendance at the school for new mayors and councilmen,
