Mayor Crane read the monthly report of the Mounds View Police
Department which stated that in 5,514 miles patrolled three arrests
made, four juvenile cases handled and three emergency hospital runs
with 175 calls answered and 47 tickets issued. Both squad cars
were called out to assist Ramsey County with the raid on a Bottle
Club in Arden Hills.
Mayor Crane reminded the Council of the suggested budget
calendar, a suggested time table for budgeting .submitted by
the Village Clerk.
Mayor Crane presented a letter from the Fire Underwriters
advising him of a survey to be made of the Fire Protection within
the next 30 to 60 days to determine the eligibility of the Village
for a more favorable fire insurance classification.
The Attorney, Mr. Meyers submitted:
1. The final forms of the Plant Performance guarantee to
be signed by D.W= Hickey and The Tubomatic Co. The
Council recommended the Attorney to forward these
forms to be signedi
2. Resolution #77 Modifying assessments, for ?Tater Main
Improvement with six property divisions. Motion by
Crane to adopt Resolution #'77. Seconded by Hodges.
4 Ayes for approval.
3. Resolution #78 certifying that the attched list of
assessments have been paid. Motion byiiddges to
move its adoption. Seconded by Christensen. 4 Ayes
for approval.
4. Civil Defense Ordinance proposed. The Council deferred
action until further study can be made.
5. An Ordinace to establish a Police Commission. Council
deferred action for further study.
6. Police Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Council
deferred action for further study.
7. Air Conditioning Ordinance. Referred to next meeting.
Mayor Crane reported that hounds View has $74,330.00 in the
Municipal State Aid Construction Fund and X3,307.00 State Aid
Maintenance Fund as of June 30th, 1961.
Mayor Crane read a letter announcing that a meeting was to be
held in Fridley, Tuesday night July llth and the Council was invited
to discuss plans for establishing a Sanitary .Sewer District.
The Engineer, Les Knutson, reported that Northern States Power
requested to install gas mains in the Village. The Council referred
this matter to the Agenda Meeting, Monday July 17th.
Mr. Knutson reported that the Contractor for the Water
Filtration Plant will begin work this week.
