HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000006_pg179PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL O0O179 VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council' was'c.al1ad to order by Mayor Crane at 8:10 P.M., December llth, 1961, at the Village Hall, 2401 Highway #10. Roll Call: Present were: Mayor: Allan B. Crane Clerk: Lloyd J. Blanchard Trustees: Melford Christensen Engineer: Les Knutson Attorney: Richard Meyers Adm. Deputy Clerk: Paul Boog Public Works: Walter Skiba Motion by,Crane to approve minutes of November 27th, 1961 as presented. Seconded by Christensen. 3 ayes. Mr. Hodges entered the meeting at this point. 8:15 P.M. Motion by Christensen to approve minutes of special meeting December 6th, 1961 as presented. Seconded by Crane. 4 ayes. Mayor Crane read the police report for November 1961.(copy on file). After reading two letters from the Chief of Police regarding the two new officers on the force, Mayor Crane moved to increase the salary of patrolman Schaffhausen to $160.00 per month, and to increase patrol- man Hagen's salary to $100.00 per month, as recommended by Chief of Police. Seconded by Hodges. The Mayor informed the Council that these two men were still serving their probationary time. Upon call of the roll there were 4 ayes for approval. Mr. Ted Meysembourg from the Extension Department, N.S.P. Gas Co., explained the reasons his company had not installed a gas main on Fairchild Ave., between Highway 10 and Sherwood Rd. 1. Only one application for service on this street. 2. The company will put in only 100 ft. of main for each user, further line would be assessed to the user. Mr. Vern SindersQn, who'resides'on Fairchild.Ave. and is.in the:process of building three homes on this avenue asked if it would be possible to get a line in early next year. Mr. Meysembourg assured him that if there were sufficient customers a line could be installed. Mr. Christensen explained the County method of snowplowing. They plow the entire county only enough to open the roads the first time and later they come back and widen the plowed area to the road edge. The Clerk's office was instructed to send a letter to the County Engineer requesting additional information on the improvement of County Rd. I from Highway 10 to Groveland Rd. In regards to the drain tile in the Oakwood area, Mr. Eastman called the Village Engineer and stated he felt sure the drain tile terminated on the last lot. Mr. Knutson was instructed to carry through
