HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000007_pg50-3- Mr. J. Bell Justice of the Peace for the Village appeared OdOO 0 before the Council. He reminded the Council that there has been unfavorable publicity in the area of Justice Courts in recent days and in view of this he feels that the next session of the legislature may possibly set up a County Court System in lieu of the J.F. system now in effect. He further requested the Council to seriously consider the possibility of setting up a Municipal Court either alone or in conjunction with adjoining Villages. The Council discussed this matter and then referred it to the Attorney and Mr. Bell for a more camplete study of costs and legal procedures. The Police Commission made the following recommendation: The Village should purchase the car at the specified price with trade in and including positraction rear axle for the additional amount of $30.40, Motion by Crane to concur with recommendation of Police Commission and purchase new Police car. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes The Mayor read the Police report for the Month of March, 1962 and it was placed on file. The Mayor read the dog catchers report for the month of March, 1962 and it was placed on file. Trustee Sullivan reported that he had toured the Village roads with Mr. Skiba and Engineer, Les Knutson and had noted all repairs needed. These repairs will be made as soon as possible. Motion by Sullivan to advertise for full time man to work with Water Department, Street Department and Recreation Department at a salary of $80.00 per week. Village resident preferred, application to close April 21, 1962. Seconded by Blanchard. Mr. Malvin questioned the need at this time for a full time employee. Upon call of the roll the following vote was taken: Blanchard, Crane, Hodges, Sullivan Aye. Malvin No. 4 Ayes Motion carried. The Engineer reported that Insulation Sales Co. bidder on acoustical ceiling was apparent low wtih alternate #1 at $996.00 Motion by Blanchard to accept bid of Insulation Sales in the amount of $998.00 including alternate #1. Seconded by Hodges. 5Ayes Upon advise of the Attorney by request of the Council Mayor Crane moved to correct minutes of the regular meeting held March 13, 1962, to read as follows: (following paragraph 7, page 2) Paragraph #8. Motion by Crane to publish notice of public hearing to be held April 23, 1962 at 8 :30 P.M. regarding storm sewer project in Bronson Quincy area. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Aye- Motion to correct, seconded by Sullivan, 5 Ayes
