Because of the omission in the published legal notice of
LaPort the following action was taken.
Motion by Crane to order a public hearing for a water
improvement project for LaPort Drive from Edgewood to
Jackson and to publish legal notice of same. Hearing to be
held on August 13, 1962 at 8:00 P.M. at the Village Hall.
Seconded by Sullivan; 5 Ayes.
The Mayor then recessed the hearing until Monday,
August 13, 1962 at 8:00 P.M.
The Engineer presented a plan for storm sewer drainage
for the backwash water from the filtration plant for study
by the Council. (on file at the Village Office.)
The problem of a possibility of water pollution near
Highway #10 and Eastwood Road was referred to Mr. Skiba for
investigation.
Mr. Jack Bell appeared for Mr. Richard Westergard
regarding an application for a 3.2 off sale license at
Tom Thumb Superette, 7305 Knollwood Drive. Motion by
Blanchard to deny the license under the terms in
Ordinance # 53.
Motion withdrawn by Blanchard.
Mr. Bell raised several questions regarding this
3.2 Ordinance and a general discussion by the Council was
held.
Motion by Sullivan to have the Attorney re -draft
Ordinance #53 and present it at the next Council meeting.
for action. Seconded by Crane. 5 Ayes.
Action on the application of Mr. Richard Westergard
was tabled until the next regular meeting.
Mr. Malvin read a letter from Mr. H. Johnson, 2580
Oriole Lane, New Brighton requesting a permit to park a
trailer at 8375 Grcveland Road. to take care of aging
parents.
Motion by Malvin to grant a 90 day permit based on
hardships conditions. Trailer to be parked so as to be as
inconspicuous as possible, Seconded by Sullivan.
Mr. Blanchard stated that the Council had denied a
permit previously for the same purpose.
Voting on the motion: 4 Ayes, Blanchard Naye
The Clerk was instructed to notify the applicant of
Council action and to send a copy of the letter to the
Police Department.
Mr. Skiba reported that due to a problem = no parking
area at 7861 Sunnyside Road the building was red - tagged.
Mr. Sullivan reported on the following:
St. Stephens Street - drainage - complete except sodding.
Hillview Road Project - Tentative date for bids
Hillview Road - closed to thru traffic because of water
problem from Highway #8 to Jackson Drive.
Quincy Road - closed from Oakwood to Hillview - same reason.
