Present were: Mayor: Clerk: Trustees: Also Present: Engineer: Attorney: Adm. Deputy Clerk: Public Works Treasurer: Allan B. Crane Lloyd J. Blanchard John L. Sullivan Donald Hodges Perry Malvin (excused during public hearing) Les Knutson Richard Meyers Paul E. Boog Walter Skiba Irene Edberg The Mayor announced that there were several vacancies on current committees and requested interested citizens to apply. Motion by Hodges to approve minutes of December 10, 1962 as presented. Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes. The Mayor opened the public hearing on rezoning of: The West 85 feet of Lot 96 and the West 60 feet of Lot 97, Spring Lake Park Hillview Section 6, Township 30, Range 23. Mr. Jack Bell, Attorney for applicant presented a set of plans for an 8 -unit apartment building to be located on this property if rezoning was attained. He presented the applicants reasons for rezoning stating the difficulty in using this lot for normal home construction, higher tax base, etc. A petition was received and placed on file from Mr. Arthur Olmstead, 8042 Sunnyside Road from opponents to the rezoning. Following are objectors and objections to rezoning: 1. Robert Eickstead 2155 Sherwood Road - Traffic increase little benefit to area. 2. William Werner 2101 Sherwood Road - opposes any spot rezoning. 3. Emil S. Anderson 8033 Sunnyside Road - fear depreciation of surrounding area. 4. Samuel Ewing 8055 Sunnyside Road does not want apartment in area 5. Roy Juntunen 2210 Sherwood Road - has rental home on Sunnyside Road, fears depreciation 6. Ralph Forsberg 8081 Red Oak Drive - traffic increase 7. Kenneth Swanson Spring Lake Park Baptist Church - fears devaluation of property.
