The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called
to order by Mayor Crane at 8 :00 P.M., January 28, 1963 , at 2401
Highway # 10.

The Mayor opened the public hearing on extension of water mains
on Groveland Road to County Road J then East to Red Oak Drive.
The Clerk read the published notice and attested to the fact
that the notice was published twice in the legal paper and mailed
to all affected property owners.
The Engineer explained the reasons for the proposed project
and gave estimates of costs. ( on file)
The estimated front footage assessment will be $3;95 per foot
and a service connection charge was estimated at $120.00.
Several question from the floor were answered by the Engineer
and the Council.
The Mayor asked for objectors to the project and they were
as follows:

All of the objectors also stated that their frontage was very
large and would result in extremely high assessments.
The Mayor asked if anyone wished to speak in favor of the
proposal and received no answer from the floor.
Motion by Blanchard to close the hearing. Seconded by Sullivan
5 Ayes.
Motion by Blanchard to withold any action on the proposal until
the next regular meeting. (February 11, 1963) Seconded by Malvin.
5 Ayes.
The Clerk's Office was instructed to contact the petitioner
and see if he still desired this -water line.
Motion by Sullivan to approve minutes of January 14, 1963
as presented. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes.
Mr. Ron Vanelli and Mr. Ted Meysembourg from N.S.P. Gas Company,
St.. Paul, Minnesota appeared and explained the reduction of gas
rates and the reduction of the B.T.U. count in the gas furnished to the
users in the area.
