The net result will actually be a balancing effect and users will
notice little or no change in their gas bills. The gentlemen answered
several questions from the floor and the Mayor thanked them for
their information.
The matter of contract agreements ',between the Village and their
Engineer, Fiscal Agent, Attorney, & Dog Catcher were discussed and the
following action taken:
1. Motion by Blanchard to enter into agreement with the firm
of Comstock and Davis for Engineer services per Mr. Comstocks letter
to the Council of January 18 and January 24, 1963. (on file)
Seconded by Crane. 5 Ayes.
2. Motion by Sullivan to accept contract as presented by Mr.
Olson of Juran & Moody for the position of Fiscal Agent. (on file)
Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes.
3. Motion by Sullivan to enter into retainer agreement
with Richard Meyers for the position of Village Attorney.(on file)
Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes.
4. The Clerk reported that the B.& E. Patrol had accepted
the contract acted on at the last regular meeting. The yearly fee
will be $1,650.00 in 12 payments of $137.50 each.
Mrs. Betty Wall, Mounds View Village Representative on the
North Suburban Hospital Board introduced the new Attorney the board
had hired. Mr. Harold Peterson, who is also chairman of the Board
of the Board of the Chisago Hospital District. He gave a short
but very important talk on his aims for the district and stated that
he would be contacting the Village Officials in the near future.
The owner of the Anoka Bus Company stated that he would appear
at the agenda meeting on February 4, 1963 to offer a new bus service
to the Pinewood and Twelve Oaks areas of the Village.
Mr. Jack Bell appeared for the owner of Monn Distributing
Company regarding the possibility of adding some customer service
machines to his business at 2284 County Road I. This matter was
referred to the Attorney for recommendation.
The Clerk was instructed to notify the B & E Patrol of the need
of heavier patroling in the Lois and Knoll Drive area.
Motion By Sullivan to appoint Mayor Crane and Trustee, Donald
Hodges as delegates to the Ramsey County League. Seconded by Malvin.
5 Ayes.
The minutes of the Police Commission meeting were read and
placed on file.
The resignation letter of Mr. Roy Juntunen from the Police
Commission was received with regret and placed on file.
The Attorney was instructed to write a memo on the duties
of the Fire Marshall for clarification.
The Council was invited to spend a few hours and take a tour
'of the Ramsey Council Jail, Detention Home and other County facilities
on a Saturday afternoon.
The new Police Department phone number is now in effect.
It is IV -4 -9155.
