Mr. James Schlichtmann, 2475 Clearview - representing the
Mounds View Businessmens Association spoke in favor of the rezoning.
There being no others wishing to voice an opinion the hearing
was closed by Mr. Hodges.
Motion by Malvin to rezone that part of the Southeast Quarter
of Section Six, Township 30, Range 23, lying Southwesterly of the
original center line of Trunk Highway # 10 and Northwesterly of a line
at right angles to said center line extending Southwesterly from a
point thereon 1511.9 feet Northwesterly from its intersection with the
South line of Said Section. Subject to Highway, from R -1 to B -3 as
requested, subject to issuance of a building permit.
Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes.
The Attorney reported that the County Board is taking under
advisement the request of this Council for the extension of County
Road H to Highway # 10 from Irondale Road, and has requested the
County Engineer to prepare preliminary plans for same.
The Engineer reported, regarding Knollwood storm sewer drainage
that the plans have been approved by the State and further that there
is approximately $62,000 in funds available.
Motion by Blanchard that a hearing for a public improvement
be set for July 22, 1963 at 8:30 P.M. Improvement to be the storm I
sewer stage of construction of the Knollwood Road Project from
County Road H -2 to a point approximately 400 feet South of Woodale Drive. \.
Notices required by law to be published and mailed to affected property
owners. The Engineer will prepare preliminary plans and specs for
this project. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes.
Mr. Sullivan was appointed to fill in for Mayor Crane at the
informal sewer meetings held at the Engineer's Office.
The report and action regarding back lot sewer lines was
tabled until the next regular meeting.
The Engineer presented plansfor gas main construction from
N.S.P. for Irondale Road between Woodcrest Drive and County Road H .
The Engineer was directed to notify N.S.P. that the Council does not want
the main to cross the road at this point because of possible interference
with future public works projects.
A meeting with a Representative of the County Engineers with
the Village Engineer, Mr Boog and Mr. Skiba was held and the County is
agreeable to postponing County Road improvement planned for this year
due to forthcoming sewer projects and to credit the Village with the
monies saved. This money to be used for road improvement after
sewer construction.
Action was deferred on the Jackson Ditch pending sanitary
sewer construction.
Mr. John Eastman presented preliminary plans for the ballroom
to be constructed across from the Village Hall. After discussion
the following action was taken:
Motion by Blanchard to approve preliminary plans for ballroom
including portion of building marked for off sale liquor sales.
Seconded by Hodges - 2 Ayes (Blanchard & Hodges) 2 Nays (Sullivan & Malvin)
Motion lost.
