HomeMy WebLinkAboutgr00090_000010_pg117030117 -2- A letter from the Clerk's Office to N.S.P. Gas Company regarding gas extension to the Mueller Addition will be sent. The letter will request the N.S.P. Company to do a new survey in that area. Mr. Darrel D. Gray, Field Representative from the Minnesota Safety Council presented a Pedestrian Safety Award to the Village. Mr. Hodges and Police Chief Grabowski accepted the award for the Village. In presenting the plaque Mr. Gray pointed out that this covered 6 years of no pedestrian fatalities in the Village, and that only 38 communities in the state have received this award. He further stated that Mounds View is one of six in its population class to receive this honor and was looking forward to presenting many more like awards to the Village in the future. The Police report for September was read and filed. Mr. Sullivan reported that Woodcrest Drive had been patched as requested. The Engineer reported the following items: 1. The investigation of Hillview Road Project was complete and a written report will be presented to the Council soon, 2. The contractor on the above project will commence further repair work on October 29, 1963. 3. The complete report on the water hardness will be presented on November 8, 1963. 4. The Electrical pumping costs report will be ready on November 25, 1963. The Engineer was directed to allow the proper state authoritis access to any and all tests reports, from the Hillview project if such reports.; are requested. The Attorney presented the corrected contract proposal for the hiring of Ernest Grabowski as Police Chief. Motion by Malvin to enter contract (copy on file) with Mr. Grabowski and to authorize Mayor and Clerk to execute the same. Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes. The Attorney reported on the meeting with the NSSSD legal representative and stated that many of the changes we desired were incorporated into the new contract proposal which was being printed and will soon be presented to the Council for their approval. An Ordinance amending the water and sewer ordinance and requiring the filling of abondoned cesspool and septi tanks was presented for Council study by the Attorney. An Ordinance adopting laws of 1963 regarding motor vehicle and highway regulations was presented by the Attorney. Motion by Blanchard to adopt Ordinance # 195. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes. An Ordinance defining and prohibiting theft was presented by the Attorney. Motion by Malvin to adopt Ordinance # 106, Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes.
